Sad to hear.  He defined what a game show host should be and did it for so many years.  A true inspiration who fought the f'ing cancer all the way.

I love it when he sneaks in a snarky comment, like at the start of Double Jeopardy -- "Don is in a distant third place, so he gets to go first."

Was our dinner time show before kids left the nest. I’m going out on a limb to say it inspired them, one or two of them went on to join their high school reach for the top competition teams. RIP Alex.

I saw last night's episode.  The producer came out and said there are 35 episodes recorded, 7 weeks worth.  The last episodes were taped two weeks ago.  They will show all 35 and announce what comes next.

The set went dark.  It was pretty touching.  The guy was struggling to keep it together.

it was a very good tribute before the show, it is weird watching each week knowing I am one day closer to not seeing him there anymore.  i have watched it daily for 10 years and it is going to be weird.
