This is either a step up for Dallas, or a step down for Salt Bae.

I'm sure the place will be dripping with pretentiousness. I usually don't go to steak places anyways.

Meh.  First, that knife slamming is akin to foot stomping in TV wrestling.  I watched a "Best Of" video and am convinced that our Eggers on this forum would wipe his arse with those sunglasses in a cookoff.

Just ate there in the Spring for the first time, great atmosphere in general.  We had a crappy location in the place and it kind of killed the whole vibe.

I am pretty sure me and that guy would not be able to hang out together if his off-camera attitude is even 10% of his on camera attitude.

Since I had to cancel my reservation at Gibsons in Chicago for Saturday due to Lightfoot shutting restraunts down I am trying to find a new steakhouse to try.  Dallas and Austin or in consideration.

Bobs steak and chop house is my favorite. Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and I’m sure Houston. Papas Brothers and Del Friscos (Dallas and Houston areas) are honorable mentions and every bit as good.

There are a ton of excellent steaks outside of traditional steakhouses down here that I like even better. The Carne Asada at Mi Dia (upscale Mexican place owners by the same group as Bobs) is out of this world. The El Jefe ribeye at ATX Cocina here is austin is probably my favorite steak anywhere. The wagyu Bavette is also world class there. Lonesome Dove  in Ft. Worth and Austin are also worth a mention. Not necessarily known as a steak place but their wagyu tomahawk is as good as any you will have anywhere. Bring your big boy wallet.

You will not have trouble finding awesome steak anywhere in TX. Even casual or non-traditional steak places (Mexican, Japanese etc) will have awesome steaks. Come on down.

Gibsons is my all time favorite. I grew up an hour from Chi-town.
