The people in Houston (I believe Caliking) might disagree. Now straight West into Mexico would be better.....for us at least.ColbyLang said:Cameron parish landfall projected somewhere around Creole, LA before crossing I-10 at Welsh, LA. Should be a solid Cat 2 at landfall. Go west Delta! -
I’ll take a state line landfall. No ill will wished upon any Egg Brethren.Gulfcoastguy said:

Yeah, if wishes mattered to storms I would get 24-36 inches of snow a year but then I'm sure my neighbors would hate me.ColbyLang said:

Our camp on the coast is in Northern Vermilion Bay. Boats pulled. Everything else tidied up. 11’ won’t get the inside wet, but will make a terrible mess
-
@ColbyLang good thing that you are ready. Loose boats=battering rams in hurricanes.
-
We pulled the bigger one out before Laura and she’s sitting in the storage unit. The little bay boat is now safely secured as well. Fourth time this season we pull em all. Time for Hurricane season to be over....Gulfcoastguy said:@ColbyLang good thing that you are ready. Loose boats=battering rams in hurricanes. -
Yep Miss Rona has some lousy friends on the stage for 2020.

Mobile radar on the way – U of Oklahoma’s Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (@oucimms) and @NOAA @NEXRADROC are deploying a mobile radar unit to Lake Charles, LA to provide additional radar coverage during Hurricane Delta. pic.twitter.com/Vx7cNeQEtl

This is good news. NWS radar at Lake Charles is still down from Laura. For those of you wanting to follow real time, you can download the RadarScope app. Very handy for spotting tornado hooks and debris signaturesXl bge ,LG bge, two 4' crusher cone fire pits. Weber Genisis gasser and

About sums it all up. Landfall will be less than 20 miles from where Laura made landfall as a Cat 4. These folks are already down, why do they now have to be kicked? Should be a fairly easy evening for us aside from the 70mph gusts and 5-10” of rain. We dodged a sizeable bullet. Storm moved almost 100 miles west since Sundaythetrim said:Fahk -
We are in it. No power for about an hour and a half basically city wide from what I understand from text messages

Been out of power about 11 hours or so. Quick on foot survey of the neighborhood shows minor tree debris everywhere. Couple of wooden fences downed, 5 or 6 larger tree branches down. Curfew in effect till 8 am. Utility crews already on the streets
-
Best wait until daybreak to explore. Downed power lines are a menace.
-
Agree with you 100%. All of the lines are overhead and across the street from where I was walking. Literally made a lap around my block. It ain’t prettyGulfcoastguy said:Best wait until daybreak to explore. Downed power lines are a menace.

Hope and pray y'all are all doing ok.

40 hours is actually not that bad. My folks didn’t have power for over two weeks after Katrina. But power means that you can get back to baking.

Our power was out for 2 weeks after Katrina....and we were some of the lucky ones.______________________________________________I love lamp..
