We just got back from Destin today and were supposed to be in Panama City this coming weekend. I had planned on spending most of the weekend fishing but that is probably shot. Hope everyone in the path of this thing stays safe.LBGE

I will be watching model runs and hunter data from here till LF. I think it blows up to a 4 pretty quick and then weakens quite a bit before landfall your way. A bit early to pinpoint just yet. Water is cooler close to land, so we got that going for us now.ColbyLang said:

I just looked at the spaghetti models and they are all pretty much agreeing with each other. I've got to construct a new plywood cover for the South facing slider today. maybe one for the big window also.

SGH and I will get our share if this track will hold true, we're on the wet side and still in the high wind zone. Of course I am remembering Katrina and Laura which were supposed to to hit West Louisiana or Texas and drifted back East.

Not a lot of shear to disrupt her intensification, so that cool water needs to do it's job. Forward speed will be the wildcard. during the eye passing over the surface water gets well oxygenated, the salmon come right to the surface to feed on the stunned bait. getting a net man on board is problematic, been there, hard to land a fish once the wind picks up. but yes, lots go to the beach, we just dont get hurricanes like this often enough to remember

Since the water is so shallow here on the coast, the storms kick up so much mud and silt the water turbidity keeps there from being any meaningful fishing advantage. Plus, if you are on a boat during one of these storms, unlikely you will survive it. Shallow water chop is brutal.______________________________________________I love lamp..

its different on a maine lake where the storm usually fizzles before it even gets remotely close. people on the coast in the know are watching the tail end of the storm, you want to get to the beach first for the sea clams that get kicked up
