Three flips
Cooking for myself so my favorite butcher Jerry, pronounced Yare E, set me up. A 24oz boneless strip. Damn I really like Jerry.

That is nailing the cook. Congrats.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

@MasterC - can you give some details about the three flips? Technique, cook temp and anything else that may enable the rest of us to achieve the same outcome? It's all about learning and practicing-even at my age.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. Gladly. Sorry no pictures. Set up the egg with the extension of the eggspander inverted so the grate was about an inch off the fire. Ran at 500° for 2 minutes then flipped for 2minutes then flipped again 1 minute and once more for 1 minute. Internal temperature was 115 when pulled.lousubcap said:@MasterC - can you give some details about the three flips? Beautiful looking steak. I was not a fan of a strip steak until I had a wagyu one in Vegas. It came out on a salt block and it was awesome.

Somehow my mac’n’cheese and wieners seems so inadequate, great looking protein right there, and as noted, perfect veggie to meat ratio! Thanks for the technique and pics.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
