Maybe they are not all class A capable.

@nolaegghead yikes thats a price point I can get behind. Have you used or seen their stuff in person? Looks like nicely built equipment.

One typical comment about tubes is true with this amp - you often hear the term 'palpable presence' to describe the image created by good tubes, and the Prologue does this.

I find this is true with my setup as well. Shelby Lynne's Just a Little Lovin' album is a fantastic example of being able to hear into the recording space and that bass drum at the beginning of the opening track is something to behold. Diana Krall's The Girl in the Other Room exemplifies stereo imaging and soundstage. The way the music is re produced is almost "tactile" as every scrape of the brushes and tap of the cymbals is so clearly heard.

Yeah, I have some of their stuff, as does one of my brothers and some friends.  Well made, cheap prices compared to the boutique English stuff.  Designed here, made in Asia with top quality components.  (Most of the components are made there anyway)

I love audio gear.  My wife complains because I move speakers when I listen to music.  I have my room calibrated as best I can, but it requires sprakers in non-decor friendly places...so I compromise and move them back to decor friendly places for daily use.

I used to have a sound proof dedicated theater/music room, but that was a few houses ago.  I have not been lucky enough to setup a new one

As far as Emotiv is concerned, they are well regarded with the home theater crowd.  Good quality at decent price.

    I got quite a few 6L6, EL34 and 12AX7's laying around...

Nice. Your house looks like mine. Which one is your fave?

I used to have a whole loft for my equipment, but we recently moved and my gear is soon to be confined to a small room, just waiting to break out. Good thing for guitar wall mounts!

That’s a theater/music room so the paint and trim is quite different than the rest of the house.  As far as amps, it’s like choosing your babies. The Mesas rule for metal and clean tones, the Marshall for blues, rock and everything in between. Hard to pick a favorite. That Mesa Mark IV on the far right is what Hetfield used to record Metallica’s Black album so it may get a slight edge over the others. Super brutal yet tight.
I meant that it was the presence of heads and 4x12s that rendered our living spaces similar, but your decor is well and good. 🙂

Didn’t know that about the Mark IV. While I’ve always been curious about multi-channel heads, I tend to like simplicity and have thus far sought out single channel heads (some with only a volume and tone knob).

    Looks nice!

I’ll show off the low end stuff now. Putting together an exercise area in the basement. 10 year old TV, 20+ year old receiver, 1st gen Apple TV, and 8 bucks worth of speakers from Goodwill. Oh, and a carbon monoxide detector. Hopefully I’ll know if I’m short of breath from a bad furnace or just being out of shape.

That JCM 800 in the middle is a single channel 100 watt monster. The older I get the more I appreciate master volumes and multi-channel amps just to help preserve what hearing I have left!

    Nice!

I'm looking to do the same for my garage. I keep watching Craigslist for some smoking deal on speakers. I can't part with my Sony receiver my dad bought me when I was trying to put together a stereo system around 8th grade. It hasn't been used in ages but it should work perfect for out in the garage. I have a bluetooth dongle for it. So it should pair up with my phone for music.

    I like your style!

@weberwho that’s awesome! Same story here. My dad bought me that receiver when I was in high school. It was by far the nicest thing I was ever given. I’ll keep using it as long as it works! Is there a Bluetooth receiver you like?

    @blind99 Right on!

I have the one in the link below and have never had an issue with it for the last 3-4 years of ownership. It works slick.
