  • I'm curious to find out if it's the KJ seal leaking or something else.  One of the reasons I went to the KJ is I was never able to get the BGE gaskets to seal 100%.  Some smoke would come out near the rear hinge area no matter how carefully I followed the instructions to adjust he metal bands on the ceramic parts using the plastic spacers.

    I'll get a pellet smoker canister that puts out a lot of smoke and see if I can find the leak.

    Just curious, why do you care if there is very small leak? It’s not like it would make any discernible difference in performance. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    I agree, Pete!  This BGE cooker is called and sold as a SMOKER, the smoke generated from the wood chunks throw in the cooker will burn slowly creating smoke AND that SMOKE has to exit someway, somewhere! Minor leakage is Nothing
