failure...
My overnight butt!
Fire went out twice. Never had this much problem keeping a low and slow going.

And wrapped up for the trash not the expected cooler rest. Oh well!

Thank you,
Darian

Not sure why. Had good fresh lump and Egg was fairly cleaned out.
was running just under 300 and I closed it down just a little and went to bed about midnight. Woke at 4:30 and fire was out. Internal temp had reached 145 but was at 137 at 4:30. I still felt ok with it so fired it back up. Was stable at 300 and went back to bed. 8am was dead again...just left it and pronounced TOD.lol
    Thank you,

Yes, Small Egg. Have cooked single butts on Small with no past issues. I guess I was just due. No major loss. Was just cooking for lunches next week.
     Thanks

No, just flat out stopped burning.
Could not see any good reason. Have held lower temps with no problems in the past on this Small Egg.
Was unbelievably heavy humid air last night. But Egg was dry from cooking brats, thighs and salmon earlier in the day. Just my time I guess.
    Thank you,

Sorry for your loss there but am I the only one that likely would have sliced that and pan fried it for lunch??

I know what you mean about holding low temps in the small.  Mine will lock in at 200° and cruise for a long time.

It could’ve been the pork gremlins...

My last two butts have been done in my Instant Pot in about an hour. Not as good as egged, but not bad. Add some smoked paprika to the rub (or some liquid smoke). =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
