I am comparing these two (adding the half grid to the CGS version).
Any input on one vs the other???

I have the adjustable rig for the XL and L eggs, and have the eggspander in another large. I find I like the eggspander in the large vs the adjustable rig in the large. I am not sure if that is the same in the XL because the XL is an entirely different egg than the L. Most of my cooks in the XL use the woo only from ceramic grill store, and I love that thing.

ANY other opinions? They are close to the same priceXL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr.

I don't own either option, but you should check this out.
tjv who comments on this thread is Tom, the owner of the Ceramic Grill Store. He is remarkably helpful if you call him and explain what you want to cook and how you use your egg - and he'll make a good suggestion on what you need.

One has been around many years, designed and patented by a good dude and forum member here, and made in the U.S. with US 304 stainless steel.....all for a good price.
The other is a knock-off made in China with cheap Chinese "stainless" steel, then put fancy green box for a higher price than the aforementioned.

CGS all the way. I have the AR, Woo and Spider for all my eggs. They just work and the quality is top notch. I've used the Eggspander at BGE events and while they're functional and do the job, I like my CGS gear better

Yep! Very nice box, made in the US too. Just brown, not green.speed51133 said:does the CGS one come in a nice box???

What do the "cross bars" do on the XL Adjustable Rig? The website is confusing me - "Use the Crossbars to position grids, stones, pans, skillets and such at each bracket setting. "
Nevermind, there's a video on a different page that explains its function.

One thing I like about Eggspander is the top grate has locking feet so you can slide it back to access the bottom cooking grate without it tipping over. Can you slide the top round grate on the XL Adjustable Rig? Or do you have to get the D-style grate instead if you want to reach under it?South of Nashville - BGE XL - Alfresco 42" ALXE - Alfresco Versa Burner - Sunbeam Microwave

CGS only. Plain and simple. One is thoughtfully thought out and the other is a copy and paste"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Both my larges are outfitted with CGS. Do it again tomorrow for all the reasons already listed.

The eggspander is a knock off of the PSWOO from CGS. If you want an eggpander, I would get the PS WOO- Better steel. made in USA, cheaper

I don't want a woo or eggspander. I am interested in the adjustable rack vs the green egg multi rack.
Not only that, the CGS doesn't even make the PSWOO for the XL.XL BGE and Kamado Joe Jr. -
dont have the slide guide on my larges but if i were adding one today i would look into the slide guide as welllove toms products but the web site is difficult for me to find things

That's unfortunate. The Pswoo Extender looks like the perfect 2nd level sliding grate option but it's not made for the XL as far as I can tell. Curious why that is is...
FYI - the BGE Multi-Rack is called the "Eggspander". The BGE "Convegtor Basket" would be the Pswoo equivalent.South of Nashville - BGE XL - Alfresco 42" ALXE - Alfresco Versa Burner - Sunbeam Microwave -
The slide glide that @fishlessman posted is a real nice option for sliding that second level out if needed. Gottem for the larges and is pretty sweet.
