Damn, this is terrible.. was reading on a general aviation forum that they were tracking the interstate and then hit some bad fog (?) and lost sight of their surroundings and ran into a hill. Doesn't matter......all of the CFIT accidents that happened while I was flying HEMS were by IFR certified pilots in IFR equipped or certified helicopters. Transitioning from VFR to IFR in an helicopter is not something that comes naturally (especially if you're trying to stay VFR.)alaskanassasin said:his pilot had to be IFR certified
No doubt that S76 was SPIFR certified, had SAS and an autopilot. But you still have to accept you're inadvertent IMC, and relinquish the flight controls to the computer. The ADS-B shows them at 110 kts and 2100 ft; then 15 seconds later, 150 kts at 1700 ft just before hitting the hill. Saw somewhere the last hit from the VS was -4600 fpm......probably inverted at that point if it's like most CFIT accidents. -

It's sad for all others on board and their families who have to live on without them. I do find it odd how a guy who raped a woman is still idiolized and put on a pedestal though.

I lived in the valley at the time of the incident between Mr. Bryant and the young woman at the Cordillera Lodge and Spa and my best buddy was the director of security and community safety for Cordillerra.
It's great of you to be so judgemental and all, but you might not be aware of all of the facts/evidence.

It's inappropriate to state, without equivocation, that Kobe raped somebody. The charges were dropped because the accuser refused to testify. No one knows what really happened; not you, not me. I had to look up his name. I thought I had heard it somewhere before. I don't really keep up with sports, particularly at the professional level.
It is a tragedy when anyone loses their life. All the families and fans are heartbroken.
It is truly a sad time for everyone.
