Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Stack & Snap Food Processor & Vegetable Chopper, Black (70725A)

It was pretty cheap. Under $50. It was rated best in class by CR and BH&G when I bought it. I only use it to make salsa, dips and pesto type stuff. Less than once per month. Easy to use and easy to clean.

    Happy hunting!
Thank you for the information. I will look into it....

I have a Mandolin you can have. With advanced age......that thing scares hell out of me. Fast free delivery.
Got some of those. I, too, have a fear of them due to loss of layers of skin just handling them, and occasionally in operation thereof.

Thank you for offering me yet another way to injure myself while cooking.

You are a wonderful friend. Excuse my poor typing due to the bandages on my hands and fingers

    🙂

Two words: potatoes Anna. This dish makes the risk of a mandolin worth it.

It has been one of the highest rated food processors consistantly on all reviews and comparisons I have seen thus far.

    Thank you for sharing.

I have a cuisinart and love it.  Also use it to make things like nut butters.  When I have a lot to chop, it’s great.  Use the pulse function for chopping onions.  If you buy at Bed Bath and Beyond, they stand behind their products.

Thank you....Cuisinart certainly seems to be a very popular choice. Babb is an option for me as well.

    I appreciate the informarion.

    Here's a link to Cook's Illustrated most recent winners/losers.

Whatever model you choose, covering the bowl with plastic wrap before placing the lid on was a game changer for me. Cleaning the lid was a b**ch.

I have a 10 year old 14 cup Cuisinart that's worked great. I use it mostly for pizza dough (better than stand mixer) and for mincing onion/carrot/celery for soups/stews/chilis/bolognese etc when I don't feel like chopping everything by hand.  No issues with the plastics yet, but I never put mine through the dishwasher. It didn't score as high in CI's review but I haven't experienced the issues they're claiming.

lovely blue kitchen aide here, was a big sale when they stopped that ugly color.  i dont find cleaning too bad, just do it right away, basically rinses off unless you have an oil base

Had about 2 lbs of SRF prime rib in the freezer. Decided to do a vegetable beef soup.

The smokey taste from the egg shines through, making this some dang good soup.

    Awesome meal.

The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

2 # of left over prime rib chopped to 1" square. I gave the pan a bout a couple table spoons worth of evoo and tossed them in cooked until all sides were seared on a medium high heat. I took them out and placed in a bowl, leaving their drippings and evoo in the pan.
The next step, I chopped up a couple of onions and 8 ribs of celery, added another tablespoon of evoo to the pan and sauteed until the onions were translucent, then tossed in 3 table spoons of finely minced garlic. Stirred until bloomed.
After the onions began to turn brown, I added 4 russet potatoes chopped to bite size, 2 cups of baby carrots chopped, 1 42 oz jar of V8 low salt, 2 packs of baby lima beans, 2 packs of sweet corn, two packs of peas, 4 boxes of low sodium beef broth, 1 table spoon of brown sugar, 3 table spoons of sriracha sauce and put the beef back in.
Brought entire mixture to a boil, then turned down heat to simmer.
With the children home from college, we just leave it on the stove....they eat non stop around the clock 24/7.
Pretty healthy, filling and delicious. Freezes well too.

Just wanted to thank everyone for your help in deciding on which food processor to get.
I went with a Cuisinart from Costco.

Costco warranty is pretty tough to beat.

Shout out to Matt.....see you at BB20

    Peace.

I have a 1-Jeff powered food processor and I take it everywhere I go. That thing will get through most everything, but the output can be erratic sometimes especially if hot peppers are involved.  It can get stinky and needs daily cleansing, so that’s a PITA. All in all, not bad for what I paid even if the warranty has now run out.
