    Ok, well: https://www.etsy.com/listing/489572978/lightning-struck-wood-powerful-talisman?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=lightning+struck+wood&ref=sc_gallery-1-1&plkey=1813c51dece092e91e14b550ad682700a59dba7c%3A489572978

for 12 bucks she can buy a talisman with imparted divine and magical powers. The seller claims it will BOOST any of your "workings". Wonder how it would taste in the smoker???

    Here is from another listing:

"My husband and I found some wonderful Lightning struck trees in the woods behind our home. These Lightning struck wood pieces are great for spell work, with qualities of storm and sky. Try using in offerings to storm dieties or in protection (from storms) spells. We have packaged 1 oz pieces as well as 2 oz chunks, to better serve you magical needs."

I wonder what kind of guarantee they have? You should also inform your friend that different tree species will impart different qualities to the spell. I would find out what kind of wood she wants, you don't want to summon some pan-dimensional being by mistake!

  • Uh-oh, Moby’s being a d-bag again.
  • So you do NOT want it for the design pattern, but you want it for some kind of display piece.....I am confused. Are you under the impression a bolt of lightening from the sky will impart some special mojo into the wood whereas electricity from a power plant does not have this secret sauce??? Just so you know, lightening does not have a fixed output frequency or voltage. It is quite variable depending on the circumstances of the strike. Not only that, but there are different kinds of lightening strikes. Believe it or not, what you can pull out of a wall socket with the added transformer is well within the range of natural lightening.

     Explain.

You can get the same voltage. But since lightening is not AC or DC, it wont be EXACTLY the same, but close enough to stain a dead tree.

Intriguing to say the least.  I spent over 40 years studying the damage lightning caused with an electric utility, including filing insurance claims on dead cows, and cracked basement walls with exposed rebar.  I did learn how to prevent strikes on equipment, which did not include trees or high profile structures.   It’s quite a science that is very unpredictable in nature.  Over 1 million volts in a single strike!!!  Guess that’s why there are insurance companies!

Thank you for your answer based on 40 years of experience/expertise! I’m sure all of us have a story about lightning strikes, but my story involved my neighbor who had a lighted koi pond with 9 of those carp. Lightning hit the light, traveled inside their home, wiped out ALL the TVs, computers, land lines, and even a microwave! Otherwise there was no fire! But the weird thing???those 9 koi carp were not affected and lived on!

And want to hear a further strange story about that neighbor? A couple years later that house burnt to the ground! The supposed explanation? A relay in the garage door opener caught fire (though not in use at the time) and supposedly sent sparks igniting a can of gasoline, which in turn caused the home to burn down...so what Mother Nature couldn’t do a faulty relay had no problem starting...

@RRP , those 9 carp were most likely mutated into Super Koi, whose powers include immortal life and something cool we don’t know about because they only protect your neighborhood at night. You’re lucky to live next door.

Woah, just read your bottom half of the story, @RRP.  Didn’t catch that last night. That’s really sad!  Hope no one was injured!
