Way OT.
I’m looking for a small piece lightning  struck wood.
About 6” long. About the size of an Xfinity cable remote control.
Anyone have a tree limb struck. Just one piece.
Thanks in advance.
Thank you,
Darian

  • I had a dead Ash tree hit by lightening last summer, it exploded a shank of shrapnel about a foot long that was buried halfway into the lawn. It was not however burned. Are you looking for a burned piece?

  • I just went and checked with the flashlight and it is gone.  That was the only tree that I know for a fact has been hit by lightening.  Wish I was more help.

    Darian -
I'm bumping your post as I want to help you...BUT what the hell is this about? Are you just looking for splintered, blackened wood, which honestly in a mere 6" length probably wouldn't even be identifiable to an inexperienced person!

Lightning struck one of my pigs a while back. Not the turbo cook I was looking for. I could have sent you a bone or something but she's gone now.

Like I said above "have a friend that wants a piece for an astrological display of some kind"

Specifically, I have no idea. I'm really not into the
horoscope/star stuff. Just trying to help a friend.

  • So you do NOT want it for the design pattern, but you want it for some kind of display piece.....I am confused. Are you under the impression a bolt of lightening from the sky will impart some special mojo into the wood whereas electricity from a power plant does not have this secret sauce??? Just so you know, lightening does not have a fixed output frequency or voltage. It is quite variable depending on the circumstances of the strike. Not only that, but there are different kinds of lightening strikes. Believe it or not, what you can pull out of a wall socket with the added transformer is well within the range of natural lightening.

Honestly, it has no meaning to me.
Like I said, it is for a good friend. She is into astrology and what not and was asking if I knew where she could get a small piece of wood, from a tree, that was lightning struck. I'm assuming, for people into astrology, believing the piece of wood was naturally struck as opposed to man made strike is important.
A home run, World Series, winning caught baseball...is still just a baseball...but to some, it would be very significant.
I don't know any specific details on the use and don's want to risk being hexed in the future so I did't ask.lol
