Stubbs BBQ - The original, not the sauce, not the music venue

C.B. Stubblefield, of “Stubb’s Bar-B-Q,” inducted into BBQ Hall of Fame
https://www.kcbd.com/2019/09/17/cb-stubblefield-lubbock-classic-stubbs-bbq-inducted-into-bbq-hall-fame/

This was the first place I had "Austin BBQ" and not even sure I would compare it to what it is today.  The place was pretty questionable- it was the restaurant part of an equally questionable hotel.  There was "Stubbs" asking you what you wanted in the deepest voice I ever heard, and cutting it with the biggest hands I had ever seen.

Sadly not long after I ate there the health dept closed him down.  But Earl Campbell stepped in and helped him bottle the sauce and promote it and the legend lives on.
XLBGE, LBGECharbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q200, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.

Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

    Very cool.  Thanks for posting.

The gospel brunch in Austin is worth doing at least once.

@20stonespice rented out the upstairs at Maggie Maes and brought in Stubbs when I turned 40 (though we lived in NC at the time. Fond memories.

It it is shocking to try the Q from 20 years ago no, because the bar is so much higher.
