Does the Money ($$$$) shot tell the story of the cook?

There are many great protein photo quality threads and associated pics that get posted here , especially the surface glistening finish. For several, the money shot, aka cross-section (where relevant) of the end product never
makes the cut. Director's choice, a hosed up cook or what? Obviously
you can post your choice(s)... I find the cross-section tells the story of the end-game. FWIW.
Am I the only one with that thought??
No need to retro any cross-section pics. Just pay it forward for the win! Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

For the most part, I take my plated pic on the counter. Phone goes away while I eat. Also, I’ve got nothing to prove.

@bgebrent - Short answer, yes. Glad to help whenever the requestor has made an effort and has a solid question. Good thing that even at my age I can copy and paste although I do update every so often. These past few days have been great for the brisket buy market. Like you, I sometimes wonder if, in at least some cases, plated-only pics belie an improperly cooked protein. Either way, I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt and also imagine the plated meal to be everything that I hope it could be.
This being said, my own documentation of cooks is spotty and highly suspect at best. Once plated, I often either forget to take further pics or simply don’t do it because I’m hosting. Nothing kills the mood of a nice evening like me taking glory shots of my own cooks like a grade-A a$$clown. -

I will shoot my poor quality pics of a cook and where it counts (beef for the great majority) the $$$$ shot. I will post pics where the cook hit my intended target (and not another pedestrian offering) or was a fun cook (brisket or heavy caveman for example) and I missed the mark. I will offer my take on how I f'ed it up but by then adult supervisory beverages very likely played a great role. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. I'm assuming we are talking about whole proteins and not things like hot dogs. I like to include the cross-section shots whenever possible. My last post that did not include that shot was the caveman lamb chops. I hadn't eaten anything that day so that meal got devoured as I was taking the last shots. No cross-section shots as there was no knife used. Just hands for the lamb chops and a fork for the salad.
I know what @GrateEggspectations means by looking like a 'grade-A a$$clown'. The looks I get (and comments I hear) from my neighbors when I'm taking pics as the food is cooking.....It's "Smokin Gal", not "Smoking Al".
