Since the late 60's, Saturday night was Taco night with my family.  Back then, Ortega Crispy Taco Shells came stacked in a box, with a small cardboard cylinder in the top one to prevent them from being crushed.  We'd alway grab the next shell from the bottom of the stack, so we weren't stuck with the cardboard cylinder (called "CC" here from now on).  Dad grabbed the 2nd-to-last shell just as I was, and said, "Haha, you got the CC!"  But, the phone rang or someone was at the door (can't remember) and I slid the CC into his still-unfilled taco shell; I got a dirty look right after.  When I helped Mom get dessert, the CC was balanced on my fork when I got back to the table.  I rolled it across the table, into his lap, and then he slipped it under my plate, back and forth, until Mom grabbed it, set it on the rear counter, and yelled, "Grow Up, you two!!"
That night, as Dad crawled into bed, he noticed a lump in his pillowcase.  CC!!
Next morning, I got ready for school, and I couldn't get my foot all the way into my shoe.  CC!!
That night, after supper, Dad went down to his wood shop, pulled the hanging string to turn on the light, and no light; he did get bopped on the head, by... CC tied to the string!!
This went back and forth for quite awhile, until I finally left for college.

My first day at ISU, checked in, met my new roommate, unloaded my suitcase, and went dranking with my new dorm friends.  Next morning, hit the shower, dressed, and OW what was that in my briefs?!?!?  CC!!!

On Christmases while I was in the AF, and couldn't make it home, Dad often got a gift with a CC in it, somewheres.   So did I.  He also found it while changing the air filter in his Pontiac (that was a good one!)

Lost Dad in '91.  I approached his casket with CC in my suit pocket, smiled a weak smile, and whispered, "You won this one, Dad."

I still have CC in a drawer somewhere.

Weird.  I'm wiping my cheeks, and have a hankerin' for some tacos!

My dad, brother and I used to watch at least four hours of the 24 hour Christmas Story Marathon on TBS every Christmas.  We tried to come up with the most obscure trivia questions about it.

    Examples include:

-What is the name of the department store where Santa is?
    - What is next door to the Chinese restaurant?
    - What is the name of Scut Farkus’s toadie?
    - What is the name of the Lone Ranger’s nephew’s horse?
    - What is Flick getting his old man for Christmas?

My dream is to one day be on Jeopardy and have one of the categories be A christmas Story

lol, I have the same hope but for "The Andy Griffith Show".

    1) How Many episodes was Earnest T Bass in?
    2) Who was the town drunk and what was his wife's name?
    3) What was the mountain mans name whose daughter had a big crush on Andy
    4) What buisness did Aunt Bea invest in?
    5) Opie shot a mother bird with his BB gun and later found the babies. How many and what were their names?

    1- No idea but I'd say 4-7?

Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons.  In the spring we make meat helmets.  We place insolent children in burlap bags and beat them with reeds.  At the age of 14 boys have their testicles ritualistically shaved by Zoroastrians.
Have you ever seen one? It's breathtaking. My father would drink and womanize; often making outlandish claims, like he invented the question-mark. He would chastise chestnuts for being lazy. Pretty normal really.

Growing up was Friday night pizza/movie. But that kinda stopped when my brother and I got the HS between football games and wanting to go out with friends. I’ve started doing it again with my 2 year old and hope to keep it going as frequently as we can.

We also do the christmas ornament and magnet thing, along with brewery stickers for the outside fridge/freezer.

Also, Christmas vacation is watched multiple times during the holidays with Wally-World moose cups full of Egg-Nog

Fishing with my dad in the Keys.  My whole family is from Mississippi and I haven't lived there since graduating college in 2008.  Living in Texas now it's sort of hard to keep in touch and see them as much as I'd like.  But every summer since I was a little kid, we'd always drive aaaaaaaaaaaaalllllll the way to Ramrod Key in the family vehicle (Florida is a long a$$ state).  I still look forward to the trip just like I did when I was a child.  I'm married now with 2 kids and being able to introduce them to fishing has been such a blast for me.  When we're out on the boat with my dad driving, it really takes me back.  Gotta make sure to call my dad today!

Visiting Acadia, I’ve visited at least once every year of my life except 2017, many more times than once when I still lived in Maine.

Other than that, not a ton.  We love spending time with family, but are only really tied to our daughter’s school calendar.  Thanksgiving is a 5 day weekend, so if we travel then and have a big get together with family in September, so be it.
