Frozen brisket shelf life?
Hey all,
Hoping you folks can help me out. I was cleaning out the deep freeze and found a full, vacuum sealed, packer brisket from Costco. I think I hid it underneath a bunch of other stuff so the wife wouldn't find out I bought another one, but it looks like I forgot about it too. The thing is that the pack date is January 2016. Is this still safe for human consumption or should I just pitch it?
Thanks for the help!

Roll the dice. If you cook it and it’s bad, you were gonna throw it away anyway. Vac packed and never lost freeze, eat it

It can’t hurt you since it’s been frozen the whole time but my guess is there is some freezer burn and those pieces will taste bad.

Shoukdnt hurt, but the quality will be demolished a bitVisalia, Ca @lkapigian

Three years well frozen. You are good to go. Just start the fridge defrost and then have at it.BTW-welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Above all, have fun.I have forgotten many hunks of protein in a deep freeze but brisket isn't one of themLouisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
