Saw a Cool Yard Bird Rig yesterday

we were out doing our brewery/winery/distillery crawl yearday and ran in to this at Jester King (first stop). They are actually known for their pizza but this was a nice addition to the menu. Green curry marinated chicken over post oak. Tom Yum Salad with toasted rice powder and Chiles. The rig was cooler than the food was but it was decent
fire pit is the end of a large propane tank with some air flow holes drilled through. Chicken was on a grid and the fire box above it had a solid steel plate floor. It acted as a broiler to crisp the skin.
Seems like something that could could be easily fabbed if someone had the right know-how and tools. Would be a fun way to cook for a large group.

I don't have anything like that contraption, but I do have a fire pit on my patio. I like the over under fire idea. I also love campfire food, but rarely have any firewood so I don't do much of it.
Maybe I should visit Chicago to get some tasty live fire ideas.
(I still feel bad about that.) I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

No need! I have gotten a Lot of mileage from those crickets! Well worth it for that alone.Carolina Q said:I don't have anything like that contraption, but I do have a fire pit on my patio. I’ve seen one of those in the show man fire food. Good show.

That looks awesome. Being able to move fire around is key.
Now that I have some rudimentary welding skills, all we need is someone with a yard, and a very tolerant SWMBO.(now only 16 stone)

Gasser by the community pool (currently unavailable)
Scale (which one of my friends refuses to use)
Friends with BGEs and myriad other fired devices (currently unavail IRL)

@20stone Great work on the weight loss. Slow to catch on the 16 stone in the sig line. Definitely not easy but perhaps this city life has some upsides, IDK.Keep at it-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Thanks. It has had its tradeoffs, but I’m feeling pretty great. I’m pretty close to target, and starting to add a little back (a la the moonlander game when I was a kid).lousubcap said:@20stone Great work on the weight loss.
