Yes that was some odd oak, which is why It ended up as a pallet.  I made some custom walnut & maple boards for gifts last year for wife and in-laws, so this oak board was just for fun.

Wife is a big thrift shopper.  She makes a decent living with her eBay store.  Pic of my gifts from her. A pair of vintage Binolux binoculars with a super cool leather case. (I love vintage stuff).  And a root wood or burl wood hand carved bowl.  All thrift shop.  The new UVA hat was not thrift.

Thanks.  I bought a bunch of 40 year old walnut from a school shop, as wife says walnut is her favorite wood.  Built her this jewelry box for Christmas in 2016.

Not my post but I’ll answer you on the knife. I assume you’re talking about the one in the middle. It’s from Rhineland cutlery. I should be but I’m not a knife guy so take this with a grain of salt. I really like the Rhineland knives. My in-laws bought me a few at the Georgia mountain eggfest two years ago and I love them. I’ve never used any high end knives though so I don’t know how they compare.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  My wife purchased the 17" Blackstone for me along with an awesome knife set and a cutting board.  This will accompany my mini max for camping.

I got 3 Victorinox knives to fill in and replace a couple knives for what I use most.  The 12” cimeter knife is massive, look forward to breaking down some primal cuts with it.  My wife also pre ordered a Flameboss 500 due to arrive end of January.
