OT** Vacuum sealer recommendations**OT

Hi guys, 

After buying cheap crappy vacuum sealers I'd like to know if anyone has a review of this one:


It's a Weston Pro-3000, it's $499.00. It pulls 28 HG, so it sucks real hard   We typically buy good products (BGE, Vitamix, etc.) and expect them to last. The problem I have found with the "automatic sealers" is the sensor that switches from vacuum to seal always starts to seal before the bag is devoid of air.  Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Vac Master, very similar. The suction pressure is adjustable. It will crush an aluminum can flat.

Technically atmospheric pressure crushes the can  Looks like a solid machine @Photo Egg

I have basically the same machine. Mine has an auto or manual seal function. On dry items, I’ll run auto. On wet items I run manual. Works great. One day I’ll graduate to a dome
type.

Good suction machine.  Chamber machines are better for wet stuff but much pricier .

I agree with @sctdg, if your gonna spend 500, spend a few hundred more and get a chamber sealer, less waste in the bagging process as well.

this is what I use . Vacmaster pro350 on left . Vacmaster VP120 chamber sealer on right . They get used an average of two to three times a day.

Started out with food savers when they first came out . Went through a few and decided on something stronger . Bought the PRO350 a while back and not long after that for the sous vide and wet leftovers thing got the VP120 chamber sealer . Got tired of the paper towel in the bag to stop fluid from going into sealer . My chamber sealer is now the go to machine of the two . 350 is used a lot with Ball jars for storing coffee beans after roasting and when I don't want to squash a product when I'm sealing . Suction sealer gives more control as to how much you are evacuating from bag.

Open your browser up and leave the cart visible, start drinking and occasionally look at your cart..... by 9:00 you will have bought it... Then you wake up in the morning (slight hangover) and check your inbox to discover what you did the night before... Not that I"VE EVER done that before... Booze is so hard on the wallet!

Looks like you decided on a different unit, but I have this one and it works great.

Yeah got to thinking, a 12" bar is plenty wide enough. The widest thing I seal is a brisket flat for pastrami or a pork belly for bacon, plus I have a case of 12" bags, no need to buy  more bags, I think I did enough damage for one night
