  • Saweeet!  I guess there’s no leftovers for us forum loafers?
Wife is an artist and has been in studio all day. She ate like 3 crackers and some cheese. came home starving and I said, "I have a little steak left over from lunch". She took on bite and said "this is what you had for lunch???" she's killing all the leftovers now. It was really good.

  • Bought that same bag of rub myself. Was underwhelmed when tasting but haven't used it on any meat yet. Anyone have any suggestions as to the best use?

Was better on the meat than out if the bag but still nothing incredible. Easily make it yourself: salt, sugar, smoked chili powder, smoked paprika, lime will get you close.  They use dehydrated lime juice but you could squeeze lime over the top to finish.

  • Working from home is the only way to live, the "water cooler talk" would make me vomit. I have worked remotely for 22 years, I don't care about your kids and I know you don't about mine so for me it's ultimate efficiency as I talk to customers only and no mindless office politics.

With those benefits, I find some additional ones, no lines at the butcher at 10:00 A.M. and laundry is always done, however on occasion I do travel oversees and can be gone up to two weeks, I guess it's give and take. It works for me though.

25 years here. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. I travel a lot as well but all domestic. I do enjoy going to the office but just like with visiting family, 3 days max and we are all ready to part ways.

  • Im, 8 miles west of downtown Chicago , I always have the TV on mute and I look up at the travel time at 7:00 and it's 90 minutes, just to get to work! That is time you'll never get back! Plus, this is my office, I challenge the typical office worker to tell me they have something like this:

Chief benefit of working from home is being pantsless during some junior executive's "highly important" career defining conference call.

As long as there's no video

i usually have a tee shirt on and nothing else

I personally interact with about 200+ people any given week, half of whom are <18yo. About 10% of the total aggravate me, but the rest make it worthwhile.

I’m winning. For now, at least :)

  • Hams all brined up, dried out and in the dishwasher for a little smoke bath. Hams are for brunch tomorrow but I wanted to get them ”smocked” today and will glaze/rewarm in the morning.
