I haven't laughed this hard in forever, what a brilliant solution to a maddening problem!  And he was able to re-use it, so many times!

Agreed, it seemed to guarantee retrieval of the device (which, with four damn smartphones, had to be a bit expensive)  
 
And I didn't know aerosol "Fart Spray" was even a thing, not that I'm considering anything....

same here. My older sisters are so lucky I didn't know about this when I was 8. Had to do it the old fashioned way

Great engineering right there.  Now, if I could get all the package shippers to leave the package by  the garage door out of sight from the street I would significantly reduce the target packages.  The only one that fails to pick up on this is the five letter shipper, headquartered in Memphis.  And to get it to the front door requires an extra 75' of travel. 

At least every driver is consistent even the ones who land the package upside down despite words and arrows to help get it right.  Off minor soap-box.

I would think one of those red dye bombs the banks put in the cash (during a robbery) would be cool going off when they open the box also.

Yes that is an engineer for you. I beat that he is already drawing up plans for an improved model. Maybe one that screams “ Help! Stranger Danger!” In a kids voice maybe? Or one that automatically dials 911 , says “I am being stolen “ and uses google map to give the police the directions.
