Just in a highly price competitive Total Wine store today and the Double Oaked was $47 and the regular Woodford $29.  As noted by @Killit_and_Grillit go now and clean them out for that price.  Christmas shopping finished.

Depends on what your preferences And prices are. I’ve had some really good ones and some really bad ones. Current drinkers are Blanton’s, Weller 12, Michters 10 year old and a bottle of Basil Hayden’s. Those prices are great @lousubcap, can’t wait till Total Wine opens here next month

Wow, that was quite an 18-month jump!
Because it's what ATK called for in their "Bourbon Steak" recipe, I bought a bottle of Jim Beam.  Because I don't sip anything stronger than port (and I didn't care for the steaks) I still have most of a bottle.
It'll prolly last me the rest of my time on this side of the sod.   =)

EDIT:  Oh, and I'm curious if anyone ever has done a side-by-side whiskey marinade comparison, with different brown waters.  Bet the differences would be akin to speaker cables...

@ColbyLang - those prices were over a year and a half ago.  Haven't priced them since as I am in a different bourbon consumption space now.  Total Wine has moved well into main-stream offerings now and I have other options for what I used to find there.  FWIW-

I live in Louisville. Doubt the ability to understand and appreciate bourbon are as intrinsic as here?

Kind of a dip shît move, but, whateves.

My bourbon, cooking, and sipping....  OFO.

    Old Forester.

Spend more. Get less. Up to you.

Folks in Kentucky, that is what we do.

Tip the other BS, no judging from me or us. We love to sip with you. Hey, we may even bring ours to share.

Just saying. Bottled in Bond. Does not suck. Not overpowering. Great sipper. Fab to cook with.

Used it to make 10 gallons of slushies at the last blast.

Gone in less than 24 hours.

    Just sayin'.
