Kind of a fail on tortillas

So Norah and I made tortillas today for the first time and they weren’t exactly a success....didn’t get them thin enough.  Oh well always next time.  Any ways the rest of the meal was perfect.  Shrimp was marinated in a mix of soy, roasted lime, dizzy pig ghost pepper and Molé.  Grilled at 550 for just about 60seconds per side.  Served with dizzy pig Molé cream corn.

Too hard on you and Norah- right out of the gate and no fear.  Way to bring it home.  I would crush those.

Ever positive here.  Next time even better and that will be a high bar to cross.

Well it looks damn good to me - can’t beat shrimp on the BGE.  They cook so fast, it’s one of our go-to weeknight cooks when we don’t have a lot of time.

I’d call that plate a success for sure!

maybe press harder when making the tortillas with the press? We usually wrap the top and bottom with a tied plastic bag on each side. A little oil on each side and you can crank them out pretty easily.

Thanks @caliking I think I put a little to much on the press and didn’t press hard enough.  All and all Norah Grace and I had a great time cooking.   She loves the process of learning and cooking things together.

Norah Grace ran 100% of this cook.  She had great flavors on everything just the tortillas were a little thick.  That parts my fault.

WTactualF? Job very well done, to both you and Norah. Outstanding cook. Love shrimp on the bge, and your effort appears first rate. Serve that meal to me, and ther would be zero complaints.
