yes it is. will eventually get a BGE firebox/ring for it just don't the funds to pay $400 for them at the moment and found this one for $50 brand new so figured ill give her a try.

would rather put that kind of money towards a LBGE or a mimimax.

In a pinch you can always hit up a BBQs Galore and grab a bag of Fogo Premium (or BGE brand and I think they have a couple other brands including g their own) but it’s not all that cheap.  

I just ordered 2 bags of Rockwood to my local ACE in Orange which should be in tomorrow or Friday but you may be able to find an ACE that stocks it.  Just looked and on Rockwood’s site it says an ACE in Garden Grove stocks it. I’d try to go get that.

Otherwise any BGE dealer will carry their brand to get you through this weekend.

Think tmy local Ace had a bag or two of this or might have been the cowboy lump yesterday when I went in to look for some hing spring.

I picked up an 8lb bag of Cowboy yesterday because I was out of lump and wanted to use my egg rather than gasser for dinner and saw it for $3.50 at the grocery store.  That stuff gave the Disneyland fireworks a run for their money.  Holy sparks!  It wasn’t bad for just some asparagus and steak kabobs but if I were you I’d try to hit that Ace in GG for a bag of Rockwood.

This place on Harbor in Santa Ana will have RO (BGE lump is RO).  This is actually where I bought my egg back in 2011.

I ordered some Rockwood from ACE in Costa Mesa on Harbor. Took a little while to get.

I have ordered Fogo on Amazon and from Fogo's website.

Started out using the BGE lump

Thanks brotha.. plan on attending the next EggFest or road show in our area to purchase a mini max and as for the Woodshed I plan on swinging by this weekend to pick up some wood chunk and hopefully pay for the hinge springs and band screws to attach mates to my Xl that Patty is trying to order for me as I've tried contacting BGE via email and phone for over 3 weeks and still haven't heard back from them.

still trying to figure out which setup would work best on my XL with kamado Joe multi piece firebox/ring set up that sits like 1.6"-2" higher.

Give the guys at the Ceramic Grill Store a call. They will be glad to help  you out. Just tell them what you have and what you like to cook. They know all the combinations of Woo/PSWoo/AR etc and will help you pick out the best combo. Also lots of good articles and videos on their site to help you sort things out.

If you want to take advantage of the Ace Hardware sale, tomorrow is the last day.  Get it ordered ASAP.  It may take a while to make it to the store, but hopefully you still get the sale price.  The CA warehouse just ran out and it's going to be end of next week until it's restocked per the tracking (then another few days to get to store).  But if you're in southern CA, that pulls from the AZ warehouse, so you should be ok.

One other note, please be advised that because of CA Prop 65, using our charcoal is highly deadly inside CA.  It's good in the other 49 states, but in CA it's like handling uranium.  So, please be forewarned.....and farewell, it was nice knowing you.  Haha

@714egghead The Woo2 lives in the egg. Basically all my cooking is done at the felt line or higher.  The AR goes in for multiple meats or when I want something as high in the dome as possible, like pizza, or tonight's chicken pieces.
