I'm ready to bite the bullet.
Is there a reason to buy a different model?
Thanks,
Donnie

I pulled the trigger on the 4800 model during prime day. Been happy with it so far. Went with that model bc it was on sale.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

I have an automatic food saver and I don’t like it. You don’t have the same level of control that the flat manual version has.

A couple of things to consider.
Are the vacuum motors different in any of the FoodSaver models? I have never seen FoodSaver make any claims that different models provide different amounts of vacuum or durability.
The all in one, automatic versions models are larger and need to stay on your counter. The basic models fit nicely in a kitchen drawer - convenient but not taking up precious counter space.
The fancy models have some extra features. More complex - more things to break. Consider if you will really use the extra features.

Do the new food savers work without pulling out the juices? I have a very old food saver, and I either have to freeze what I’m sealing first or put paper towel on top of food to absorb the juices that the vacuum pulls out.

Can't speak for all of them, but the one I bought has a drip tray and senses the amount of liquid it's pulling out.jabam said:Do the new food savers work without pulling out the juices? There is a "pulse" system on the food savers we use for packaging food with marinades, bourbon slushies, etc. Works very well.jabam said:Do the new food savers work without pulling out the juices? Thanks for the feedback.
Most of the features mentioned are on this model.
And....complication due to so many could be a problem....I'm a simple KY redneck !!!
