Houston has more Vietnamese than NOLA, but NOLA has a higher Vietnamese population by percentage and French cooking is one thing Vietnamese and New Orleans Cajun/Creole have in common. Perfect storm, so to speak.caliking said:

Pho Tau Bay
There are many authentic Vietnamese restaurants throughout the city. Over the years, Emeril has been a regular at the family-run Pho Tau Bay’s Westbank outpost, and he still frequents its newer Central Business District location. “I can’t go to New Orleans for a day or two without eating at Pho Tau Bay,” Emeril says. It’s always a treat to get to see Mama, Karl Jr. and Karl Sr. Their chargrilled pork spring rolls can’t be beat – be sure to ask for peanut sauce on the side. Their pork vermicelli salad with an egg roll and the chicken pho are always my go-to dishes. Try any of their banh mi, which is the Vietnamese equivalent to a po-boy, because they are so flavorful and fresh. It’s a different palette experience than your typical fried seafood and roast beef po-boy.”
Karl Jr is a friend and lives right next to Warren's corner in an old hardware store. Friend of mine. His family owns/runs Pho Tau Bay. He still won't give me his Pho broth recipe tho.

So Dwayne calls me early in the morning. Today. I am sleeping. He's like, man I got a story for you. Can you pick me up from the airport?______________________________________________I love lamp..

So this is almost unbelievable.
I woke up this morning with a hangover like none other before (OK, that's not really all that unbelievable). All I could think of was the bahn mi post from this week. I scrolled back and noticed Carey's mention that NOLA has the best bahn mi sandwiches. There was some disagreement from @20stone about Houston or something. I was pretty depressed, because you really can't find good Vietnamese food in Morgantown, PA.
About 5 minutes later my buddy across town texted me saying he heard Taylor Swift's jet had made an unexpected stop at the airport behind my house. I looked out the back deck, and sure enough. I'd never seen her jet here before, so I had to go check things out. Turns out she was on the way to NOLA and they stopped because the in-flight WiFi wasn't working. I mentioned that I happen to work in IT, want me to take a a look? Turns out it was a pretty simple issue to fix. They asked if there was anything they could do to thank me. I asked if they would mind if I hitched a ride as I have a friend down there. 15 minutes later I was back from grabbing a bag with some clothes.
I have to say, this is the first time I've ever been in a private jet, and wow... Also, Taylor is an extremely classy young lady. I can't say enough about her hospitality.
