Oh suggestions for good sides to go along with? Thanks

I always use cherry. It gives the meat that nice pink color with pork. You can mix it with whatever...I usually go cherry/apple.
For traditional BBQ I usually serve these. They are fantastic.

That, some mexican street corn (or just grilled), maybe potato salad or smoked green beans, caprese salad, watermelon salad with cherries, mint, cucumbers and strawberries. That's pretty much the standard in the summer around here."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

Apple is my favorite. But it may be time to switch up based on these comments.
I normally use two fist-sized chunks of wood for pork.
How much wood do you use?

Hickory, pecan, or oak. Sassafras is really good too if you can get it. Another good one is the bourbon barrel wood.

I think the consensus is five fist size chunks in a large. That's my mix for a shoulder. Clean fire box. New lump with five chunks.LBGE, PSWOO, 36" Blackstone, MasterBuilt smoke box- Playing with fire in Three Rivers, MI

Mesquite...because it grows everywhere here and is somewhat of a nuisance....great flavor though especially a low and slow burn, it lasts looooooong too. Lotsa energy in those branches....
Awesome on high heat sear as well. A wood for every bbq need
I do add pecan amd white oak as well... -
Peach is my favorite, by far, for pulled pork. I use peach preserves to coat the pork butt after I use my rub. Remainder of peach preserves from the jar goes into the BBQ sauce.
