I am cleaning the garage and have an extra FB 200.  It is missing the meat probe (because I cannibalized it), but otherwise in great shape.

NOTE - this has the universal fan, NOT the one for a BGE (which is why it’s “extra”).

$100 + shipping from 77007. PM me if interested

That's a great deal.  I can get a kamado fan kit and probe for the lucky buyer and it would still be a deal.  You could easily makeshift an adapter for it and still use that fan though.

Does the "universal fan" fit a weber smokey mountain?

It doesn’t look like it. As you can see in the pics, this one has a square foam face and a spring to grab the opening.  I saw a couple videos showing how to rig it, so I recommend you give it a look and see if that’s someting you can do.

That's actually the original fan.....they didn't have a Kamado or Universal, it was all the same.  You used the same adapters then it had those spring clips to hold it in.  You could "nibble" a hole in the side of ANY grill then the spring clips would hold it in.

Does it have the "flapper" inside the fan body?  The early ones had it to prevent back draft or air leaking in, but when the fan was below 30-50% and the door got sticky, it wouldn't lift.

You can use a set of the adapters with that fan for a Kamado no problem, but you still have to deal with the springs which were a pain.  A new fan kit is under $40 whether you get the kamado kit or the universal kit.  The universal has a round adapter on the fan that plugs into a 3/4 pipe fitting.  You can screw that fitting into the side of your smoker, or screw it into the the "dog dish" that fits over the intake daisy wheel.

A toggle bolt, a smallish stainless steel pet food bowl are your friends in making an adapter that will fit over one of the vents on the WSM. Cut out the size rectangle you need on the  pet food bowl and you're good to go.

FYI, it looks like you could get a fan for the BGE or a WSM plus a new meat probe, and still be way ahead.
