OT PSA - Not Sure What I Was Thinking

After all the discussions here about wire brushes losing bristles I don’t know why I wasted money on a new brush. Bought it over the winter on sale, it lasted all of 3 cooks. The rest of the thing is pretty heavy duty so I’m gonna loose the brush head and use the blade for a grid scraper.

Yep. The stories of little kids getting a bristle caught in their throat and having to head to the ER are friggin nightmare fuel."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

I have the helix style brush. It’s not as effective but with a few extra strokes you get to keep your GI tract in tact.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Sorry to hear how close to an ER visit that was!
I have been a patient egger for years now just using a simple 1" or 1.5" stainless steel putty knife. While it may take me longer I'm satisfied with the results. And yes a more expensive Billy Bar will work so suit yourself!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time! -
EDIT: great refresher-don't mess with the wire brush.
I'm with @RRP here. Putty knife for the chunks when they are looking nasty, fire for anything else. Too easy.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -

I won one of the Smokeware Ash Tools in the raffle at BB3 - great all around tool and never hurts to support a business that donated quite a lot to the event.

@CTMike - Is that ash tool long enough to reach into your XL? I like the design, but there are some comments on Amazon suggesting that it is too short. Thanks.
