Yeah yeah the Kamado Joe forum is a hopping place man!
It’s probably been a couple years since I looked at their forum. It didn’t appear to be that active...

The KJ forum does better then the original BGE forum. I blame the format for that going downhill but the regulars defend it and it doesn't seem like it will ever change.

It's kind of sad watching it die. There was a lot of good information there. A lot got transferred here so it's not a total lose.
Shots fired!  I’m sure someone will be along soon to chastise you, young whippersnapper.

That original forum for the BGE is like something from the bulletin board days of the Internet.

The new mini max stands, integrated nests, and modular tables are pretty slick.  Saw some other upgrades, and more to come apparently.  The racking system is ok, but cgs is still going to be the leader.

I actually have one for work and despise the thing. So counterintuitive that something as simple as changing the ringer settings is terribly unclear and convoluted.

Luckily, I am soon to get a work phone from another manufacturer.

Now that it looks like we're not gonna die from a N Korea nuclear strike, I might invest in some of this.  I'd rather support the CGS than BGE corporate.  I thought the Mini max stand was cool, but I'd rather have a table to bring along that could support the MM and many other things as well.  Hearing the guys name was Marco did make me miss @Don Marco BGE really hosed that guy!
BTW- The guy with the camera (Rob) was the buffalo at one time. Very well still may be. He is their social media guy (and may do other things that I don’t know about as well)

Yep.....sat and bs'd with him for about 10 minutes.  I was hoping to get a group photo with him, @pgprescott, @tjv, and I, but it never transpired.

If you could get a pic of him and tjv together after what they debuted today I would be floored.

I doubt tjv was caught off guard.  He seems like a good enough business guy that he had to of know this was in the works.  Hell, I'd bet even stlcharcoal knew something was brewing.

I find it interesting, though not surprising, that the BGE "Official" website has not been updated with the new offerings.

I'm headed to my local dealer to pick up my replacement firebox today and to see what he says when I ask for the new mini-max stand... I'm expecting a blank stare... we'll see....

I’m sure they won’t be available for a few months. They always show them, but it takes a while for the manufacturing and logistics to catch up.

I'm personally intrigued by the modular table setup.  Could see that being purchased in the future.

Will the BGE divide and conquer come standard with the new BGE like it does the Kamado Joe? I think it's only going to hurt BGE if they charge extra for it. (They will charge extra for it)

Yep.  The steel crossbars for the Eggs to sit on are a nice design.  With a metal top as well I don’t see any heat issues.

I’m just assuming they’ll cost an arm and a leg for each section, but we’ll see.

Maybe I missed it on the video, but I wonder if any of the "modules" are enclosed cabinets.

the KJ now cost more than the bge. You can afford the extras, if you want them. Choice is good. Buy what you want and only what you want.

It think so.  Things can change in 6 months, but Rob is who reached out to people during the Eggtoberfest ticket giveaway.

The acacia wood tables are quite reasonably priced imo. Not sure you could go to the store and buy the materials let alone build it for the same price. Same with the teak when they are available.

Over the years I've heard BGE corporate is quick to sic their lawyers on any one who uses any form of the word egg on any after market product to be used on a BGE. It has been described as a "come to Jesus" meeting on steroids! One guy said he assumed that nasty lawyer would sue chickens if he could!
Yeah even Big Green Craig has had to hire an entire team of lawyers.
    I have never been sued.

Ha ha ha, John! I'll never believe that Big Green Craig isn't sponsored by BGE corporate. Besides Craig's classes et. al. are not material products to be used on eggs, but are very specific supportive product useage.
Outside of some of regional fests put on by local retailers, I have zero affiliation with BGE corporate.

As expected... unaware of new products even though the unveiling was done at the Home and Garden show here in Nashville!

Fwiw, every manufacturer has basically the same type of roll out. Some are like the mm and take a year or more and others are 3-6 months. That’s why they are pretty tight lipped up until it’s time to debut and get down to the 3-6 month out area.

Sure looks like the "resting on our laurels attitude" for BGE the past few years has finally been shaken off.  That said, the design and copy aspects of their new products are definitely market recognition that others beat them with offerings.
Unfortunately for most consumers, the now (whenever manufacturing and distribution gets the gear out there) turn-key selection and accessories will likely put a dent in the small after-market companies sales.  How many dealers can effectively talk about the BGE let alone steer someone to other product sources?  FWIW- and it's early Friday.
