I've heard of people finding them for under $100. I've seen over $500. I wouldn't sell mine for $1500 though, as mine was a quest, and hopefully I gained a friend out of the deal.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I like the blue ones.

What is a chiminea?

I spend way too much time weekly looking for one online. So far nothing.

You can. The chimney comes off and there is a grate to cook over the fire.
-
@FlyOverCountry you roast your balls on it while you’re freezing during winter cooks.

This is my chinimea next to my small. It stands pretty low, it isn't huge and you gotta be practically sitting on top of it to get any warmth. But the cool factor is pretty high. Paid $200. Yes, there is a screen (below the cone) for cooking. But why would you?

Late to the thread on this one but it does resonate. I own a blue BGE chiminea. Have had it for probably 15 years. At the time they were sold it was kind of like a quest for a unicorn. I found mine in a little Mom and Pop hardware store in Gardner, KS. By the way--this is my first post on the EggHeads site in a lot of years. I belonged to the original forum and kind of lost track of it. I still use my Egg more than any other piece of equipment I've ever owned.
I also own but seldom use a Primo 2000 gas kamado. I've had it since 2001 and use it occasionally. It works but nowhere near as well as the Egg. It does work well enough for a fast cook that I often wonder why BGE has never delved into the propane idea. -
PS--my Grand daughter has used the chiminea a LOT to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. This thing is capable of putting out major heat through the top of the chimney.

Don't tell your problems to people. 80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.
