My wife gets the pretty plate unless she's being picky and doesn't want too much of the "fancier" toppings / sides that I typically spring for.

Exactly how long does it take you guys to take a pic? I'm curious as to how much effort goes into food pics. 

I have never spent more than 60 seconds prepping a plate and snapping a pic. I'm sure you guys can tell. 

Depends on how many elements there are in the dish. I did a contest a couple months ago where I had a puree, sauce, two sides, the protein & garnish that had to be plated in 3 minutes or less. Got it done with about 30 seconds left. 

I've gotten my photography down to less that 90 seconds. There is definitely B Roll, but there is always one shot that is the best.

@Big_Green_Craig - there is actually some on the top bun. I think it was havarti melted in the toaster oven and it became somewhat translucent.

None of my plates are worthy of a photo.  It’s something I need to work on. Sometimes my butcher board is worthy but I usually am busy cutting/slicing at that time. So my photos generally suck.
