RIP to a Legendary musician icon. One of myself and wife's favorite artist. Many of our life events growing up were accompanied by Tom's music. I always enjoyed the fact I knew and could even occasionally feel Dylan in his work.

  • Lost another Legend. It's been a rough couple years - Bowie, Prince, Greg Allman, Chris Cornell, Glen Campbell, Chuck Berry. And those are just the once I can remember...i know there were others.

    Rest in Peace, Tom.

He was a good man.  And a good bowler.

The Dude: This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

RIP.  I can't call myself a fan, but it's sad to hear when another legend leaves us.  My biggest memory is of a girl I went to college with who, unfortunately for her, was granted by the good Lord above, with a face just like Tom Petty's.  So, everyone called her that.

No. He's alive in hospital after cardiac arrest according to some media. And other media pronounced him dead. LAPD won't confirm or deny. Either way it's sad.

One of the greats, for sure. Just one great album after another, including the later stuff. I'm normally not moved too much by people who don't have a direct impact on my life dying, but this one makes me very sad. He also deserves more credit for his character "Lucky" on King of the Hill.

I became a Tom Petty fan back in 1985 or 1986 after getting dumped by my then girlfriend and listening to the lyrics of "You Got Lucky".  Even now when I hear that song I think of her and smile as I imagine the hell she should be living in right now for doing what she did over 30 years ago....  Well, not really but you get the point -

"Girl if you can do better than me, then go... yeah, go!  But remember - good love is hard to find, good love is hard to find... you got lucky, babe.... you got lucky babe... when I found you"

"I just took a deep breath and it came out. The whole song. Stream of consciousness: words, music, chords. Finished it. I mean, I just played it into a tape recorder and I played the whole song and I never played it again. I actually only spent three and a half minutes on that whole song. So I’d come back for days playing that tape, thinking there must be something wrong here because this just came too easy. And then I realized that there’s probably nothing wrong at all."

He is back!  He isn't dead yet.  From his daughter, click picture to read her very angry slam of Rolling Stones.

    R.I.P. Tom.

One of my favorites. Not a song in his collection I don't like. He worked with so many others. George H, Roy O, Bob D, and Jeff L to form "The Traveling Wilburys".
