Brian Johnson (AC/DC) returns to the stage in Surprise Cameo at Reading Fest. You may recall that about 18 months ago he retired due to hearing problems, which forced him from live performances. A jammin version of Back in Black. Enjoy.

Whats up with this? He talks when he sings and he sings when he talks...

Tom Petty took to social media to announce that he is feeling much better but a battle with laryngitis and bronchitis forced him to postpone several shows this past week. His camp shared the good news via Facebook "We've received confirmation that Tom is indeed feeling better - and we want to reassure those of you planning to go the shows in Northern California this week that all systems are go!".

Not sure if this artist has been mentioned yet, but do yourself a favor and listen to Tyler Childers new album "Purgatory":

    https://open.spotify.com/album/35LcGAeeMwVeIJrDpB3Gkz

Sturgill Simpson produced it and it is a great album start to finish. "Too country for bluegrass, and too bluegrass for country". Also, if you like to waist time on YouTube...look up his live stuff.

The lineup is sick! I have Sirius and they will be broadcasting live, can't wait to hear Phil and Bobby do Terrapin!
Pretty cool lineup. A buddy of mine from school is Charlie Starr, the lead singer/guitarist of Blackberry Smoke.

The Boss and Taylor Swift have joined the effort to fight the ticket bots and ticket scalpers. An interesting article (short) and worth the read.

Just curious if anyone is coming to Louisville for Bourbon and Beyond, a gigantic pile of some of the best Blues musicians alive will be performing. Our place is open if you need a place to hang out. Good times.

When in college, he used to play in Lexington, frequently. (We distilled some alcohol at the chem physics building, back in the day ;) )
We would take it to a place called Flaherty's, a dive bar, which has since closed (for public health reasons, if nothing else), and pour him a shot, on an as needed basis (whenever, well frequently, as he sent his empty shot glass over to us). The man was legendary. I have no idea how he sat up the entire show, played and sang.
Glad you get to see him. He has overcome some serious health issues and is lucky to be with us these days.

I have been eagerly awaiting this one since the band was announced about two years ago.  Gizmodrome are:

Adrian Belew: Learned how to play Jimi Hendrix's studio guitar solos perfectly, before anyone told him Jimi had the tape running backwards.  Played with Zappa, the Bears, the expanded version of Talking Heads, but most well-known as principle songwriter, vocalist, and half the guitarists of King Crimson.

Mark King: Lead vocalist and funky-ass bassist for my second-favorite band of all time, Brit-funk maestros Level 42.

Stewart Copeland: Played drums in the 70's/80's for some band called The Police; perhaps you've heard of them?

Vittorio Cosma:  I'm not familiar with this guy, nor the band he was in "FPM".  He's gotta be good to be hanging with this bunch.

    Pressing "Play" now....  :triumph:

^^^  Well.  A tad disappointed.  Stu did "lead vocals" on most of the songs, and he's, let's be kind, not a lead singer.  ESPECIALLY with both Mark King and Adrian Belew in the same band!
The songs/arrangements are great, a lot to chew on here (I'll be listening to this the next 6 weeks or so, easily).  I was really curious as to how King's very precise, percussive bass style would mesh with Stu's "coloring outside the lines" drumming style, but they actually mesh quite well (Stu dialed back quite a bit).  Belew uncorks some wonderfully quirky solos, and the keyboardist plays just the right things at the right times.
You got your moment, Mr. Copeland.  Now let the true talents in this band shine through, and release the Sophomore Album from Hell!  Thank you.

Went to see Zac Brown last night, beautiful amphitheater night in Austin.  Great show, as always they play a generous number of covers which is better to me than just straight pushing their material.  They did a 15-20 min whipping post that was incredible.  Some great musicians in that band.
    Love you bro!
