I finally purchased an anova from Amazon the other day and this morning decided to give it a shot. Pulled a tri tip from the freezer, vac sealed with no more than1/4 cup of Stubbs beef marinade and tossed it in at 131 and let it run for 8ish hours. I let it cool a bit, dried it and coated generously with Mojave garlic rub and seared on the XL on a CI grate just above the coals on the spider.
Definitely the most tender tri tip I've ever had and the marinade did a great job as well. This would make some fantastic sandwiches. Happy with my purchase and looking forward to practicing with it.

Looks good to me. I got one for Christmas last year and have been trying to figure out what to cook with it. Still in the box. Tri Tip this weekend may be the winner.Cheers,

One of the best purchases you will make.
That looks outstanding. Tri Tip is so much better when cooked in that manner. Beautiful cook my friend."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
