Man these rigs look pretty cool. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002NQN11O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499821928&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mangrates&dpPl=1&dpID=41mV2dPtHUL&ref=plSrch
I know @Focker likes em. Anyone else have experience with
these? I was originally eyeing Grillgrates but I'm not too
keen on those being made out of aluminum and kinda
wonder about their durability.

They work great for testicular augmentation therapy. But they leave a mark.

I like them. They help even out the temp. I ended up using them on my gasser full-time and can't remember when I used them on the Egg. Might break them out this weekend. Thanks for the prompt.
PS - just looked and I'm actually using Grill Grates. Hope this helps.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Are these one of those products you pay $70 for and quickly realize they do nothing the egg can't do already?

I've got the brush, have yet to use it.
An Al foil ball molds to the grates and does a good job when they get gunked up.BrandonQuad Cities

I might be a gimmick guy but those Mangrates just look killer. Probably going to be what I go with.Focker said:I've got the brush, have yet to use it.

They're not a gimmick FWIW.Powak said:

If you have a basic understanding of how to use iron in fire, you'll love them.
They really do, enhance your grill, evening the uneven lump burn in the egg.BrandonQuad Cities

Bought a set from a 'murican who immigrated from VA to GWN, haven't used it yet ... price was right @ 15 canuck loonies (I think) for the set sans brush...

Thinking of getting this man brush for cleaning, Lol...

All jokes aside how do these compare to Grillgrates? Can't find much on either grates on the use of these on Eggs. Probably because they're not needed?

@Powak to actually answer your question above, there's a thread over at BBQ-Brethren comparing mangrates and grill grates:

Seems like a useful gadget but I can't remember what all the uproar was about? Did the owner come on here as a fake reviewer or something?
-
Looking back thru early threads on this, a poster was heavily advertising these and got called out for being a product spokesman. Whether they actually were or not, they stopped posting on the Egghead forum. Can't find much in the BBQ brethren whether these are good or not either. Lot of love for Grillgrates though. Right now I can make killer steaks with the stock stainless steel grade so I'm thinking I may just stick with that .odie91 said:Seems like a useful gadget but I can't remember what all the uproar was about? FWIW, I was at a restaurant supply place a while back, saw some commercial gas ranges with heavy duty burners and grates just like ManGrate, probably from the same source.canuckland

Probably from the same source. Mangrate can just hike the price up because it's from them.Canugghead said:FWIW, I was at a restaurant supply place a while back, saw some commercial gas ranges with heavy duty burners and grates just like ManGrate, probably from the same source.
