Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking for a while, but felt compelled to finally post.
A couple of weeks ago, I was yardsaling with the wife, and when we pulled up to this one house, I couldn't get out of the house quick enough.
Sitting in the driveway turned out to be a Small Green Egg in pretty rough shape. After a small discussion with the owner, I was able to walk away with it for $100.
The biggest issue is that the draft door was a rusty piece of sheet metal. It was in pretty good shape other than that. The top damper was a bit rust, the handle was in rough shape, it was really dirty, and the inside had an odd smell.
After a bit of work I replaced the draft door, cleaned it inside and out, replaced the gasket, and sanded down the handle.
Here is the finished product:
Quite a nice addition to the LBGE!
Cheers,
Adam

Great score! The "before" picture looks better than my small egg.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@SmokeyPitt haha. The kicker was the rusty piece of sheet metal (maybe roofing?) that was cut to replace the doors (Not exactly sure how you lose the doors).
After taking the pictures, the large looks like it needs some cleaning. I have a new Smokeware gasket for it. Maybe that will be this weekends project.
If anyone needs a replacement draft door housing for a small egg (no doors, but I can throw in the rusty piece of sheet metal). It is stainless, and has a some rust spots. Id he happy to send it to someone that can use it. Ill probably start a new thread for it.L, S

Yeah I was wondering what was going on with the draft door. My draft is still in good shape it is mainly just the handle and gasket that needs some attention. Right now I am running sans gasket.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
