First water-to-table post of the year - kind of... I will keep this short and get to the details.
Today was the first day at the boat. We opened it today: scrubbed the walls, took inventory, flushed the fresh water tank, onboarded the rods, cleaned everything, fired everything up on it and all was well.
Went out to get a couple of things and grab lunch. Was sitting there at a pizza shop and a guy came in an started to chat with the guy behind the counter. The guy behind the counter asked how they did "It was a good day trip". "Great! Got any for me?" Then the other guy went back out and carried in a bag.
I could not resist... I walked up and asked if he had any more, and he did. "2 pounds please." He came back with a bunch in a bag. I handed him a $20, although he only asked for $16.
Found out they left on the trip yesterday and fished overnight and morning. So they were < 24 hrs old. So fresh...... no egg, but honestly the best scallops I ever had.
I know you all like good fresh food, so here are the pictures:

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Jealous. Scallops are the best. After stone crab. But that's mostly because I like to play with my food."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

Beautiful cook! Need to find some!
I may be the last person on the planet to learn this, but I had no idea scallops could do this...

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Nice! Nothing beats fresh seafood. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That's against their interests. - George Carlin
