Just picked a Rolex Milgauss Z-Blue.
Put the deposit down now just waiting for my income tax refund to pay the balance. Should have it in a few weeks.

Where is the heart rate monitor on that thing?

Master Chronometer Certification, Co-Axial Escapement with Self Winding Movement, Anti-Magnetic with a pie pan face. THE best watch I've ever bought.
D'you think I could interest you in a pair of zircon-encrusted tweezers?

I gave up wearing watches about the time that I go a cell phone . 1997? I could never get a band to fit just right and they could be hazardous around construction machinery (no rings either)

Nice watch! I don't have any nice watches, but do appreciate the craftsmanship + artistry they represent.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Yes, you can tell time from your phone. You can also cook chicken on a $75 gasser.
May not be for everyone but some people appreciate fine time pieces.Greensboro, NC -
Been retired since 2002, the Omega and the Perry Ellis are still in the drawer (this post reminds me to check on them), didn't even have a "smart phone" until about 5 years ago. Time does not matter, Sun comes up, eat 3 or 4 times, drink more than 3 or 4 times, sun goes down, have a night cap, hit the rack, repeat.
The one time piece I like is my Grandfather's old pocket watch - hope I'm still ticking at 125 years old....Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -

Nothing fancy, but the latest is a classic. The band is pretty much why I pulled the trigger on this impulse buy while getting a new battery for the work watch.
If it were not part of my working, mobile, floating "gear check", counting pulses and respirations for assessments, frequent vitals for chemo, Rituxan, blood, post procedures, at the bedside on any unit, or wherever if needed, I probably wouldn't wear one, or have many quite honestly.
I have a 20 year old Swiss Army watch that gets deployed on special occasions. 2 other favorites were special achievement type gifts that will always hold a place.
Seiko is my favorite all around work and casual brand, currently at 5 models. Not one single problem. They have taken beatins.
A bright white Punisher watch comes out once in a blue moon at work with the black scrubs.

I can definitely appreciate fine watches, but I wish I had the money back I spent on my time pieces sitting on my dresser. Lol.
Enjoy though. -
Funny how philosophical watches, guns, cars, etc can be to a gent.
Some have the safe queen mentality, too scared to scratch it. They rub it with Zaino, put on the matching nylon jacket, then look at it again, admiring it. Then rub it with more Zaino until the finish gets nice and water beading hard, takes 13 rub sessions, admiring it even more, then they put it away.
.
Others, take them out and rock that b!tch til the wheels fall off. Lol
No right or wrong, whatever floats your little boat.

I own several quality watches but, haven't worn one in years. I can appreciate a classical timepiece but, occupational hazards trump stylish attire.

Thats just because you haven't been using a bank since your gal Hillary was in office.SGH said:Some of you fellows have more money strapped on your wrist than I have in the bank. Must be nice........
