That picture was obviously not recent. But seems like if he was trying to murder someone wouldn't he try a better tactic than wanting to purchase a bge base and dome? Maybe something that would create some traffic?

Not an umbrella.  It is an entire awning.  Looks like it was either attached to the leg, or the leg caught the smokeware stone holder thingy.

That sucks. I think his best bet would be to call bge.  Maybe they would work with him on replacement parts at a discounted price.  I just can't imagine why anyone would sell a base and some unless they were cracked.

Canopy collapsing, not a good thing. Poor fellow, hope he can work it out. If that happened to me, I would replace it. Keep the internals.

I'm moving, have a large, new style band-kit, firebox and fire ring new in boxes. I was not going to install them until after the move. So, in fact, I have a top and bottom. The move date is May 26 so I'll be breaking down the egg a couple days before that.

Jeff, thank you very much and yes the feeling was horrible. I had not considered going to the forum and do not know why because I have been a member for years. I just do not spend any time on it these days. As you suggested, I have already made arrangements to purchase both new. I thought putting a post on  Craigslist was a long shot but am glad I did as it resulted in receiving this email from you which will encourage me to visit the forum again.

Thanks @Big_Green_Craig. I feel bad for the guy. He's a long time egger. His first egg was red and made of clay if that tells you anything. And he has 4 eggs in total. And for what it's worth I don't know this guy from Adam. Just thought I would try and get him some help from the crew here. I knew there would be some that would try and step up. Thanks to those that have.

I was just thinking some folks here might know him.  I don't think a forum handle would be too helpful to a murderer, but maybe that's just me.

I understand what you are saying John. And I'm sure he wouldn't care or think I had other motives by asking that question. More of a joke than anything. But as you can see, some are quick to jump to their own conclusions even though their thinking seems to be in left field to others.

 Anyway, I felt the need to do what little I could for him and hope he gets that egg back up and running. Sounds like he's giving it to his son once repaired as he has plenty of eggs for himself. 

Hopefully he will I'll jump back on the forum, I have no idea.
