It pops quite a bit when I light it with the Mapp torch.  An ember jumped up and added a "thumb hole" in my sweet polyester Callaway sweatshirt.  Melted instantly!

But, it stays lit, cooks evenly and imparts a good flavor.  I buy it 100lbs at a time.  I love it.

But for reals, I wear safety goggles and long sleeves when I'm lighting it.

Rockwood is my primary go-to lump.  As everyone mentioned, it has a nice neutral burn and haven't come across any rocks like some of the other brands.  On longer slow & low burns, I typically use Fogo due to the larger size lump.

Ready for summer grilling.  Rockwood is all I use now.  Don't intend to run out.

That is how you make it happen. That is a lot of bourbon consuming to be done there.
@FarmerTom, you got it going on, my brother.

    I need a barn like @FarmerTom!!

I typically buy 2-4 bags at a time from a local Ace.  Since the crackhead here in Atlanta burned down I-85, I've been riding our crappy transit system so I'm not in the car as much so I can't get more right now.  I feel a road trip coming one weekend since I'm down to 1 bag in the garage and a charity event coming up soon!

Rockwood is my goto lump.  I've used Fogo with very good success as they are very similar in performance.
