Agreed... until they inject themselves.  Melania has stayed clear so far.  Michelle got political immediately.

Obama's kids, and Trump's two youngest should be off limits.  Trump's oldest three are fair game though.

Comments on policy are certainly fair when it comes to Michelle.  Comments on her looks are something  else entirely.

The oldest Obama child is participating in political protests. Kinda opens herself up to criticism (which she won't receive). I personally could care less though. It doesn't interest me as it is nothing more than schoolyard BS.

Except the extended campaign by the MSM to tell us how classy, beautiful and stylish she is has been underway for years now. I am surprised she hasn't won a fashion award like Barack's Nobel prize. Otherwise I totally agree. She was blasted early on for her in-artful, hateful comments and went away for 5-6 years. They have rehabilitated her image in the down time. She's very much like The Donald, she needs a muzzle too.

If you are one to judge, how about you post a pic of your lady?

I'm the last to judge, until something is jammed down my throat.

Since I have been told for more than eight years how beautiful and fashionable she is, it's pretty hard to not notice that she has the perfect face for radio.

I'd bet that he values his wife for who she is and what she has accomplished more than what she looks like!

    First, I am a bachelor, so ...

Second, if you feel that way, then why the attacks on Mrs. Trump?  Not only is she very bright, but she has admirably put raising her young son above all else.

Why does it matter how smart she is or isn't?  I really don't think it does, although I'm curious to hear what evidence there is to support that contention.  She certainly could be, I just haven't heard anything.

I certainly admire her priorities, I just wish they weren't costing taxpayers an extra $30M a month.

My contention that she is smart is only based on a few interviews and hearing that she speaks a bunch of languages.  I could be wrong.  She doesn't crave the spotlight, and I admire that about her.

I share your thoughts on the additional $.  However, you must admit that Obama / Biden played pretty fast and loose with the taxpayers wallet.  (in terms of personal perks).  How much did that last Hawaii vacay cost, and why was it needed just 2 weeks prior to retirement?

Speaking multiple languages is more a reflection of upbringing than anything else.  It's unusual for people in the US, much less so for Europe.

Mostly I was commenting on the cost associated with her and Barron staying in Trump Tower instead of moving to DC.  It's costing around $1M a day, and it's largely a cost that's avoidable.  That and the other costs the entire family are accruing are rapidly surpassing anything the last administration did.  See here:

I agree John, that is an unnecessary expense.  In eight years we'll be able to look at plenty of indicators to see which president has done more for our country.

I could be wrong, but if I was Obama, I'd be a little nervous to have my results listed right next to #45.  We'll see though, right?

Common John, you're not really quoting Obama's job numbers with a straight face, are you?

Real apples to apples numbers will tell the whole story.  Trump will embarrass Obama, or himself.  We shall see, but no doubt it will be interesting.

Didn't Biden force the Secret Service to pay rent at his house?  Seem to remember something about that.

I hate the suddenly amped-up cost of protection as well, but in the big picture I think it's fair as we wouldn't want something to happen that could give some organization or foreign nation leverage over him and compromise his attention or decision making.   :|

Of course.  But normally the first family - particularly the FLOTUS and any young children - relocate to DC and the White House.  That's what we should all expect, because the alternative is incredibly expensive.

The Fake News doesn't report negative stories about liberals with the possible exception of trying to put an end to a line of questions or doubts so they can move on to "new news".

How many times did you here old news out of them as an excuse for not investigating or reporting? The Russia stuff would be "old news" if it were a liberal.

Well, when the taxpayers are footing the bill, I guess we shouldn't expect it, not from the Trumps at least!

There are many.  Gdp and # of americans receiving entitlements would be a good start.  The jobs number is a good one, but how that number was altered and needs to be measured consistently from president to president.  I hate fuzzy math.   Trump is guilty of it, just as obama was.

At the time of my comment, comparing "trophy wives' with "accomplished professionals' was not intended as an attack on Ms. Trump but as a rebuttal to several puerile attacks on Ms. Obama.

    Looking back - you're right.  I could've/should've rephrased.
