Being filled with piss and vinegar sure is a strange mood for people who think they've won.
You must not be very competitive. Piss and vinegar is actually quit normal for those who have in fact won.

  • Circa 1941.  We tend not to be very cognizant of our own history in this country, and that's a shame.

wow, the lack of testicular fortitude some of you demonstrate is amazing.  one would assume from reading half of the above posts that this was a site for grilling veggies and tofu, plus the occasional gluten-free product. how many of you that oppose trump are employees for someone?  how many of you that oppose trump actually own businesses or are self employed?  i posted this question on another site and the responses were pretty amazing.

We move forward and make America great "again" by focusing on barbecued mutton instead of Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and all the other **** we've decided is essential to our daily lives.

Never watch cable news of any ilk.  Trust your local newspaper if they give you no reason not to.  Put down your phone.

That's how you make America great.

But we won't make America great "again" until the sideshow out there that lives on twitter, facebook, Instagram, youtube, shuts up about how terrible America is.  Yesterday, we had a peaceful transition of federal power from one administration to another administration who then immediately began whitewashing the previous administration out of history.  In other nations, that kind of thing doesn't happen.  It leads to a civil war and a military takeover.  If you don't believe America is great simply because of peaceful transitions of power, then you're drinking the Kool-Aid.

a group on fb for sports fans that got sidetracked by politics.  the vast majority of those opposing trump were employed somewhere and had never served this country in any capacity.  most trump supporters were business owners/self employed or had served this country via the military or public service of some sort.  some trump supporters had done both.  the do-ers vs the talkers.

Any source of news that relies on the nyt or ass press is suspect in my book. Obviously not all garbage, but largely. These people have been exposed as lackies. Repeatedly I might add.
  • I stopped reading the Flint Journal when they decided to do a series of stories on how terrible life is for the parents of murderers in prison.  Never mind the victim's families.  Life is hard for the murderers' families.  It's very inconvenient to visit the far away prison.  The paper of record in Flint, Michigan is the Flint Urinal.

As a centrist, and an engineer, I prefer statistics to rhetoric.  I found these slides interesting:

Also read something interesting in a recent Time: there are only 75,000 coal-related jobs left in the country, while there are 315,000 new alt energy jobs in California, alone!  (and I've been hacking my lungs out this last week, the pollution inversion this winter has been especially bad:

^^^ yeah, I live underneath that).

I think there are some signs the Trump admin will embrace renewable energy jobs over the next four years.  At least Perry was signaling that for DOE.

It's possible to embrace renewable energy and provide jobs.  The notion that we have to choose between the environment and the economy has always been false.

To answer the original question in this thread, I would say it's by fiercely choosing sides and posting tons of links to articles that nobody will click on except for trying to find a grammatical or spelling error that proves their point. (Emoji face)

Too many people worried about being right more than anything else.  If being right is the most important thing to you, you're not going to move forward at any pace.  Or stay married long.

Argue the issues and policy of you want, arguing the man doesn't enrich anyone for being here except for the occasional snarky/funny comment.  Clown1 and Clown2 were the choices we made this year, one of them is now President, everyone's President.  I wouldn't be jumping up and down about either of them.  On to the issues and policies.
    Love you bro!

I cheered on our democratic, first black president.

Im disappointed to hear this brother Brent. You had to know that it was a disaster in the making.

    Not happy with the results

My brother, it could not have ended any other way.

Brother @SGH , I regret that I am only allowed one vote to agree with you here.  Your post deserves at least half a dozen agrees and as many likes.  Eight years ago, I also knew the disaster was somewhat inevitable.   When the spineless republicans in Congress just stepped aside and let the American people get trampled by this socialist president, the outcome was certain economic turmoil.  It's a good thing his foreign policy was rock solid crappy because that helped distract people from the stellar cesspool economy.
Whenever I read stuff like that I swear some of us must be living in parallel universes.
Yeah?  Since the economy took a crap in 2008, I have received exactly one pay raise which was previously scheduled.  The raise was more than offset by immediate  increased healthcare costs.  I have taken a handful of pay cuts since then.  We've had a bunch of folks laid off and they're not coming back.  I'm glad you're doing so well brother, but some of us are not as fortunate as you.
I get that the crash/recession of 08 hit a lot of people hard and many folks may still be in a pinch.

What I don't buy is blaming Obama.

Housing prices in most areas have recovered to pre-crash levels, mortgage rates are very low, the stock market has doubled, yadda yadda yadda.
How about job killing gubmint regulations as imposed by the executive branch through the bureaucracy?  Do you think all the unprecedented numbers of executive orders are to make it easier for business to hire people?

Its all a matter of judgement of how the American people are best served.  When the doofus in charge sees global warming as the biggest threat to people rather than radical Islam (oops I said it), then there is a serious problem with judgement and priority.  Radical Islam is actively working to wipe western civilization from the face of the Earth.  They will do what they can to kill us and destroy our economy, but let's concentrate on reducing cow farts because they're deadly.  If cow fart reduction makes our economy weak, so be it.
You do know (well...apparently you don't actually) that Dubya and Clinton and Reagan signed more executive orders than Obama right?
Again, the genius either doesn't know or is deceitful. It's the type of things you execute the orders on that really matters. Things that are not in the executives authority. This will be screamed about in the coming year. I bet you and the clown posse are the first in line. Hypocrites!

now you'll pretend you don't get it and ask a bunch of stupid questions I'm guessing.
And I have no doubt that as well informed as you are (by what sources? - tis still a mystery) that you have done an exhaustive analysis of the respective Presidents EO's by category/type. Would love to see the matrix you've compiled.

Surely a sophisticate such as yourself isn't just falling back on the partisan "Demcorat Prez EO's = bad", "Republican Prez EO's= good".
