OT: Anyone own a decent Oil Fryer Transfer Pump???

I have been looking for an oil fryer pump for a while online with no luck. All the reviews are sketchy and say they pump poorly or drain battery too fast, etc.
Part of me was thinking to just get an old siphon and put some kind of coffee filter type contraption on the end. I have never had much luck with a funnel and filter.
Any ideas or suggestions?

The reviews on this one seem pretty solid: https://www.amazon.com/TERAPUMP-Cooking-Vegetable-Transfer-Recycle/dp/B00PCM3GUC/ref=pd_lpo_79_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=A0D7HD359KXW637JCXY3“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

@HeavyG I thought the same thing. Overall product reviews online were more like 2 stars with hundreds of reviews.
I bought one about 2 years ago. The batteries died before it pumped 4 gallons and took forever. I returned it."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

Mouth/gravity siphon. It worked great at a lab we used to have until someone sucked up the pureed salmonella baby turtle mixture. Don't ask. (really, it wasn't me).

fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Get one of these https://www.amazon.com/FloTool-42003MI-Drain-Container-quart/dp/B0171QLC4S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482851864&sr=8-1&keywords=oil+change+pan
It will work better than a pump or a funnel.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

During college, I managed a restaurant and we would use something like this
It was great, made moving grease a snap, but is probably overkill for what you are looking for.

I can't believe I hadn't thought of that. Then just easy pour back in the original containers.
@fishlessman I tried one and it siphoned fine until I tried to add a filter to either end."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

@Hotch I have a couple. A turkey fryer, a little bayou classic bass pro special fryer, and a little square one I never use. We hardly ever fry anything so I didn't want to invest in some high dollar fryer that I leave out and has a drain on it and all that. I only get it out maybe 3 times a year max. But I got oil stains on the concrete twice so I figured I need to find a better solution.
@Thecoiman that's a fancy little contraption there. But at that price I think I could hire someone to fry my crappie!!"Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

It is food safe rated, This is important!
And one of these in a 100 size mesh

Then you can do this:

It's the setup that both @Thatgrimguy and I use.
Oil needs to be warm, say 120 or so.
When finished just put the buckethead screen in the dishwasher!!

Hotch, I have everything that you've shown minus the tubing, and how does that attach to the fryer? As for everything else it works wonderfully but the hose would be a cleaner set up than just hoping it hits the bucket. Thanks

Thanks @Hotch I already returned the pail - they didn't give me any hassle either time or ask too many questions so either it's a known issue or they have really great CS.
In any event, I am going to get a couple of food grade 5 gal pails from my local supermarket or deli - I don't plan to store any oil long term - just need it to filter and refill. I ordered the recommended bucket head from the link above. Two Large Eggs, 6 gal Cajun Fryer, and a MiniMax in Charlotte, NC - My New Table

I found this one this morning. Mostly a beverage pump. But it looks like they have tested it for a multitude of fluids if you read the Chem Chart PDF. I would call and talk to someone your use of the pump before purchase. Remember food grade rated is your friend!!
That said, gravity works for me!!!

When I worked as a scullion, we would drain the two double basket friers hot into paper filters and added some unknown chemical that was designed to treat the oil (probably engineered by Monsanto in some deep underground lab). Then we'd clean the fryer insides, pour the filtered stuff back in and top it off. We would totally replace the oil on busy nights, or every other day. From what I remember, these where hazy times.

It's the Monsanto stuff that would bother me......
