Email the contact info and request the delete.  You can also call.  May take a few days, but they will delete it.

Type a long string of gibberish

Copy it

log into forum and go to your profile. 

Change your contact email to something useless

confirm

then go to change password

paste the gibberish into the new field both times (new and confirm)

accept the changes

log out

now you can't log in and you can't send an email in order to change/fix your password

You know it seems that folks do come and go for whatever reason. And to each their own I guess. But I wouldn't delete my account if I left. If you delete your account all that typing was in vain.
