does the forum site have the ability to hide discussions or entire post from a certain member that I don't want to see anymore. Or do I just have to skip over some of the bull$&:; that people find it necessary to post. Not trying to start something, just a question.

it's an option for many vanilla forums, but if it were employed here, no one would be viewing anyone else's comments.

FWIW, I assume you are talking about @littlesteven. he has caused a lot of problems on these forums.  used to go by the name 'tweev', 'stike', 'celtic wolf', 'zippylip', and many others.

i know first hand that the forum mods have spoken to him directly, and he is on a short leash here.  he has laid low fairly recently, but he stirred up some trouble yesterday with his thinly veiled attack on a certain brand of charcoal, as well as fostering in-fighting w/r/t anti-caking agents and their use in brand name rubs and pancake mixes.

do what i do: when you encounter him on the forum, engage sparingly.  compliment his cook or picture or comment, and then send him an anonymous email offline disparaging him, his lifestyle, and making fun of his accent, appearance, vocabulary and intelligence level.  he is house-bound, and unable to travel, so he can't really ever get you back.

also, send one of THESE every six months, using a different forum member's handle each time.

Scrolling faster is an easy way to avoid reading anything from folks on your "kill file" list.

Not clicking on threads they have started is another surefire way to avoid them.

Well since I work around cars, those two things tend to not go well together. Also, if I could drink at work, I really would have a serious problem on my hands.

I work around pants. They go on, they come off. Many times booze plays a role in both.
