Who wants to live to be 100 if you can't partake in at least half of these to make getting old a pleasant journey?

I guess I am in deep trouble. I had 15 out of the 20 on the list this weekend alone.

The only ONE I don't eat is microwave popcorn.
Homegrown kernels and cocunut oil are so much better.  Never was a fan of nuked popcorn.

The only one on the list that I don't eat is "overcooked meat". However I'm more than sure that I make up for it with my consumption of undercooked meat.

  • According to that list I've been dead a long time.

No worries, guys. This list is probably from the same people that said butter and eggs were bad for you. Now, they're A okay. Just drink lots of filtered water and carry on. Just kidding, sort of. Just use common sense. @SGH, I have to agree. We're eggers, so what is this "overcooked meat" they are referring to? Doesn't everyone have a Thermopen?

I think waiting for the 5 million adds to load on the site is worse for your health than the food.  Next year these will be the foods you must eat.

This just in: waking up in the morning puts you at a 100% risk of dying from something in the future. Heck, even Jesus died.

I've been thinking on this some more and figured if I use the same sort of 'scientific' data they did, I would find a common reason why their data is flawed. And I think I did find it.

The current life expectancy in the United States is 75.6 for males and 80.8 for females But back before McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken in say 1950, life expectancy in the United States was: 65.6 for males and 71.1 for females.

They can't attribute all of that difference to better medical care, or driving safer, or reduced murders, or a myriad of other reasons, so the only thing left is the preservatives they put in junk food.

Maybe we should be eating more junk foods instead of less if we want to live longer.

    You're welcome.

this is my favorite, a very sciency kind of statement

from the red meat slide, the one w/the creepy looking steak:

According to the same analysis by the World Health Organization, people who eat 3.5 ounces of red meat every day are 17% more likely to receive a cancer diagnosis in the next few years.

    Love you bro!
  • I have a neighbor that eats extremely healthy. She may outlive the entire neighborhood, but I can not see spending the rest of the time on this planet eating that way. To each their own. Plus, like Dredger says, they keep flip flopping on what is unhealthy.

Doesn't scare me, I'm not reading it. Ignorance is bliss, besides, I'm sure I've eaten everything on a list of tasty food, err, I mean list of unhealthy food.

Canned tomatos contain synthetic estrogen??? (read the text on the tomato slide).  We use a lot of canned tomatoes. Hmmm...  Come to think of it, I am becoming really fond of the name Caitlin and have bought some fabulous fabrics lately.

On the other hand, when compared to the life expectancy in other developed nations, the USA has fallen from 11th to 42nd over the past couple of decades.

Probably can't blame that all on bacon and microwaved popcorn tho. :)
