Americans have very short memories.  I seem to recall a really horrible economy when Bush was in office.  :s

America was given a choice and they knew for certain what one of the choices had in store. We will see about the other.
  • "WTF America????" Maybe it would have been a good idea to nominate someone who is not about to be indicted. Out of all the people who ran on either side, she was the least trusted. "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!!" Well, you hit an iceberg. The Dems nominated someone who could not beat Drumf. But now it is America's fault.

    Yep, WTF.

I knew I'd wake up pissed regardless of the outcome.  clown vs clown and we all lose.  it's not one party's fault, the system we have has failed us and we have failed ourselves.  we lost this election (all of us) a long time ago, not last night.

kind of makes us look silly preaching democracy around the world and telling countries 'we know what's best for you'

maybe a little humble pie and will be good for us in the long run, maybe this election was going to be bad enough regardless that a real discussion about fixing things gets started.

politics has become a huge industry, it was never meant to be an industry.

Like Negan, Trump, "Shut that sh!t down!"
HIS WAY.  He befuddled more liberal know-it-alls with Lucille in one night, has to be a record.

He's not perfect, has a lot of work ahead fixing others Fockups the last 8 years.  Repealing Obummercare would be a great start.

It was bigger than Trump. The polling/media said the GOP would lose the Senate and maybe even the House. People are tired of constant attack on traditional values.

Yeah, if you don't tow the liberal line, you are stupid, a bigot or racist or homophobic, or worse. That seems to have run it's course.

winter has come . . cant believe all the groups he insulted (women/latino/black/etc.) could not rally together and make a stand.  I think the lazy voters & scared voters (things suck, blame game) won this time.  We are all now in the same bubbling hot tub of diarrhea . . just hope Trump can handle himself with **** hits the fan, and foreign affairs get serious.  During the debates, EVERY TIME Hillary dangled a carrot in his face . . he showed no restraint, and acted like a child who lost his Halloween candy.  Trump needs tons of good support, I hope he gets it . . and listens.

In 1964 Barry Goldwater was demonized by the left as someone who would start a war and drop the bomb so they the left liberals voted in a commie named Johnson who fabricated a war in Vietnam . In 1968 I and many like me received a letter from Johnson saying that we had to go fight for our country .I could have gone to Canada (had family there) and Mom was going to support me there till I got on my feet . I chose to stay here because this is my country and I would not be able to come back .I was drafted into the Army and trained to find people with a dog and kill them,I did my job well ,this was for my country RIGHT? I never in my life saw myself doing anything like that .I also saw people die because the left wing politicians ran the war and political correctness was even going on back then . When I returned home I was called a murderer and spit on by the same LIBERAL COMMIES that put Johnson the creator of the war in power . Just to add insult to injury another LIBERAL COMMIE named Carter allowed all the deserters in Canada to come back to the U.S. and be treated like heroes . To say I hate the left is an understatement  .I learned my lesson at the ripe old age of 19 and have never forgot it .

Yeah, certainly repealing the ACA is one of Trump's major policy goals.  Along with building a wall and getting Mexico to pay for it.  Of course, reality has a way of ... making things inconvenient.

I think "Obummercare" has resulted in what - tens of millions of new people moving onto health insurance?  An outright repeal strips health care away from a LOT of folks.  I don't think the GOP is quite that suicidal, but we'll see.

The idea that they'll "fix" it is also a joke, for basically... math reasons.  It all comes down to pre-existing conditions.  If you want a new law that keeps that provision, there is almost no way to structure it any different from the ACA, and we're back to where we are now.

OK.  How do you fix it while still allowing for pre-existing conditions?

Agree PE needs coverage, and portability.  Let's solve this at BB.  ACA is big Govt fix.  More personal responsibility with no govt inefficiency factor and more pay to play with a safety net.  Folks like me do a couple hundred k for free per year because it's who we are.  Don't ask for more, because it'll drive us away.  It's mostly about efficiencies and regulations.  Things the government fails at horribly.

How do you get private companies to cover PE and make money though?  I just don't see how they manage to get large enough, healthy enough risk pools.  In the end there's only so much grease to be made up for in the way of efficiency.  The main cost drivers don't really change.

The risk has to be shifted in a tiered fashion, just like our unfair tax system.  At some point, responsibility must rest upon the responsible, with the Medicaid safety net.  At what point do you quit enabling a drug addict?  Personal experience.  You quit when you recognize the importance of someone making their own way and that enabling is bad. At BB please ask me to tell you about Mohammed, an amazing patient of mine.  It's not an easy proposition or fix.  Efficiency is better accomplished outside the government and I know you know that.  Go Cats!

And if the insurance companies don't benefit what benefit is there for them to even think about getting into the game?

If the private insurance companies don't get into the game what options are available to patients?

Every player in the game wants to benefit. And each player wants to benefit more than the other players. So...what do you do?
