Need a good, not spicy pork rub

I have some old friends visiting tomorrow night and I'm going to throw some ribs on my XL BGE. I usually make mine a little spicy--plenty of black pepper and a little cayenne up front, and a little spice in the sauce as well. One of my friends is incredibly sensitive to spice. (last time he as was here, Cheese Nips crackers burned his mouth....) So, no cayenne, no black pepper etc.
I have never been a huge fan of sweet rubs on the pork, so I need some ideas. Anyone have any good ideas for a non-spicy rub I can make here at home. (or maybe run out and buy--but I'm running out of time...). Thank you!

Smoke them naked, maybe some salt. Make your usual sauce an put it on the side for those that can handle the heat.

And welcome to the forum and egging..

would probably just go really light with your usual rub, but go with two sauces, maybe one spicey and one very sweet like sweet baby rays or bone sucking origional

I would smoke with just Salt and put warm dipping sauces on the table, Sweet/spicy. Maybe put out a shaker of rub or shaker of cayenne. OR Make a rack for him plain, and do the rest your wayColumbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

Peach Preserves. Do a SPOG rub, then cover in peach preserves. Add some (about a tablespoon) peach preserves to the BBQ sauce. Smoke with Peach."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Thanks for all the great ideas! I think I'm just going to go the salt only / serve with sauce route.

You could mix up a batch of Meathead's Memphis Dust Rub Recipe. Cut back on the pepper if you wish.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -

I love Bad Byrons myself but it has a little kick IMO.
For sweet as of late I love Honey Hog from @Meat Church.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. No revelations on a rub. Reads like most near-term options have been covered. Enjoy the cook and eats.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Unless you're somewhere you can buy locally it doesn't help you this weekend, but Oakridge Secret Weapon is fantastic on ribs.

Bumping this thread because I am doing some ribs tomorrow and am looking for a homemade rub that is not spicy at all.
Perhaps only some paprika, salt and sugar?
Any other suggestions? -
